Best Practices for Integrating Third-Party APIs with Ex Libris Alma
Hi everyone,
I’m currently working on a project that involves integrating a third-party API with Ex Libris Alma to enhance our library’s data workflows. While Alma’s RESTful APIs provide a lot of functionality, I’m looking for advice on best practices when connecting external services—especially around authentication, data synchronization, and error handling.
Has anyone successfully implemented such integrations? What tools or middleware did you use, and how did you manage API rate limits and data consistency? Any tips on maintaining security and avoiding disruptions in Alma would also be appreciated.
