1. Support Indexing of Collection Type(Alma-D)

   When adding an Alma digital titles, all Alma digital titles are indexed, so it takes a total of three days to be published.
   It takes three days to update the primo collection lobby.

   Please consider that only certain collection types or some collections can be indexed to reduce publishing time.

2. Integrate Retraction Watch data into CDI article records

   We would like to see metadata on retracted articles incorporated to CDI/Primo from the Retraction Watch database (https://retractionwatch.com). While some CDI records indicate in titles that the articles have been retracted, not all do -- this appears to be provider-dependent. Adding a metadata element to indicate retracted status would make it possible to flag retracted articles visibly and consistently, and to create a facet/filter for retracted articles.

4. Make Primo content discoverable via Microsoft Bing search engine

   With an increasing emphasis on measuring and maximising the impact of research outputs, an incentive for researchers depositing content in an institutional repository is that this can boost readership, citation counts and potential impact of the research - but this is dependent on the discoverability of this content.
   Studies have shown that an increasing proportion of academic search and discovery activity occurs outside the discovery services provided by the library, with researchers using discipline-specific indexes such as Scopus, academic search engines such as Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic, and general web search engines like Google and Bing.
   It is therefore essential that repository content be indexed where users are performing their academic search and discovery activities.

   Bing is the second most popular search engine after Google.
   Microsoft Academic is to Bing what Google Scholar is to Google.
   For academic items to be indexed in Microsoft Academic, the item needs to be indexed in Bing first. Lens is a recent and upcoming academic metadata aggregator, including of scholarly works – and Microsoft Academic is a partner of Lens.

   Popular repository platforms like DSpace comes with tools to ensure that search engines including Google, Bing and Yahoo can easily index content on these platforms.

   Primo repository content should at the very least be indexed in the most popular general search engines, which includes Bing.

5. Display Peer Reviewed and Open Access icons when coming to Primo via OpenURL

   Our clients can benefit from having the Peer Reviewed and Open Access icons display in Primo when clicking through from a Database or Google Scholar. We would like to meet our clients where they are searching for articles and these two indications are important to them.

6. Allow API retrieval of a user's saved searches

   We would like the ability to retrieve a user's saved searches via API, in order to allow for the user's searches to be displayed with other user information (e.g., in a library website user account).

   There is an existing API, in the DevTools' Network tab as
   /primo_library/libweb/webservices/rest/v1/savedSearches?vid=..., which requires a Guest or User JWT.

   However, this API has not been added to the API Gateway for public use. We would like for this to be added to the API Gateway.

8. Collecting records directly for Primo to feed an union catalog

   Our library we are going to participate in a union catalog project. The company in charge of making the catalog has asked us to provide with access to the records of our library data sources (ILS, repositories, other databases, etc.) in order to collect (through OAI / PMH or any other method) and incorporate them into the new union catalog.

   We think that, since some libraries have only Primo installed, For this project, a other similar projects, it would be more efficient that the records can be collected directly from Primo and not from the other systems. Thus, it would be easier to collect records from a single data source (Primo in this case), rather than from multiple data sources (ILS, repositories, other databases, etc.)

9. Allow key-based SFTP for pipes

   When configuring pipes in Primo it is possible to use SFTP as the harvesting method, but there is no option to use keys for authentication, only to specify a password.
   
   This is in contrast to when setting up integration profiles in Alma, where key based authentication is possible.
   Please incorporate a system similar to that used in Alma into the SFTP configuration for pipes in Primo.

10. Options for applying Primo Dedup process selectively

    We want options that can prevent two Alma BIBs from being merged by Primo Dedup Process.
    It could be an option per pipe or local record, or any better method. (Related SF Case# 00872193, etc.)

    e.g.)
    * Alma-P : Dedup OFF
    * Alma-E : Dedup ON
    * CDI : Dedup ON

    Currently Primo runs dedup process for all records. (Please correct me if I am wrong.)
    It is a necessary and useful function for electronic resources - especially for articles- but sometimes not for local print materials.

    Catalogers decide whether to maintain separate BIBs or to merge them based on the phisical/bibliographical differences between similar titles.
    When the decision was made to maintain them separately, it is intended that users will distinguish them and use the one they prefer. We also think it is users' right of selection.
    However, current all-or-nothing process does not allow users to recognize the differences between the similar but unique physical items on different holdings by presenting them in one merged record.

    We would appreciate if you kindly provide us a good solution for that.

11. The ability to customized Worldcat link in Worldcat search API

    It would be great if the worldcat link in the Worldcat search scope (enabled via Worldcat search API) could be customized to allow either 1. a proxy prefix or 2. for replacement with a worldcat discovery link.

    We're looking into this because when we were on campus, the link was able to - via IP recognition - offer users the option of going to our Worldcat Discovery instance, which brings together worldcat records with our services (i.e. ILL) We would like to somehow replicate that experience now that our services have all gone remote.

12. Adding 'preprint' as a new resource type in CDI

    Preprints from preprint archives such as arXiv.org are currently shown as 'article' in Primo. While preprints are a wonderful thing for open science, it’s important to maintain a clear distinction between a journal article, which has undergone peer review, and a preprint, which has not. The article is citable, the preprint is generally not. This is something we teach our students, and also something we try inform the general public about.

    Many preprints are also never published in journals in the end. Other preprints end up as e.g. book chapters, not articles.

    While arXiv (1991) is the oldest and best-known preprint archive, we’ve seen a rise in preprint archives in recent years, with PhilArchive (2009), bioRxiv (2013), chemRxiv (2016) , psyArXiv (2016) and many more, making the preprint more important than ever.

    Technically, a preprint is a type of manuscript, but we think using the ‘manuscript’ resource type for preprints could be confusing for our users. The term ‘preprint’ is a well established term among scientists, so a new resource type for ‘preprint’ would be very welcome.

    In our testing Aleph, we set to allow unlimited number of renewals.
    Item was already renewed for more than 9 times, the number of renewals shown in Aleph client and Primo were both stopped at 9.

    Right now, Primo Collection are searchable in Leganto. However, adding the collection to Leganto is not supported.

18. Add feature to Primo services page to help users outside Primo find full text from PCI direct link collections

    The Alma link resolver only returns results from the Alma repository, so it would be useful to add a feature to the Primo services page that would pull in results from Primo Central direct link collections too. Perhaps the feature could show a search results preview from the library’s Primo and format it like the bx service in an orderly side panel. Such a change would encourage users to search the library’s Primo before they resort to an ILL request or give up on looking for the item. Some full text content is exclusively available through PCI direct link collections, while in other cases it’s immensely simpler to only activate the direct link collection rather than to import records into the repository or maintain additional CKB activations. As an example, here’s a citation found in an EBSCO database that our library can provide access to through a PCI direct link record, but there’s no indication of it from the services page. http://tinyurl.com/yxo6c6yx

    The Alma link resolver only returns results from the Alma repository, so it would be useful to add a feature to the Primo services page that would pull in results from Primo Central direct link collections too. Perhaps the feature could show a search results preview from the library’s Primo and format it like the bx service in an orderly side panel. 19. Adding Accession Number for EBSCO results to the PCI

    Would be useful to add the EBSCO Accession Numbers to PCI records and sending these Accession Numbers in the OpenURL from Primo to Alma, so that Alma could use them to build direct links to EBSCOhost for problematic linking issues.
