  1. Service is free?

    Alma currently allows only two choices for the selection "Service is free?"; free and not free. But there are new business models available in publishing that need to be recorded. Subscribe to open is both free and not free, for example. Alma should allow more choices to identify publish and read, membership, subscribe to open, and other publishing business models and to support library management of resources.

  3. Alma - add a coverage field at electronic collection service level

    Right now the coverage of a portfolio is managed at portfolio level only. It would be very useful to have a chance to set up values for coverage also at service level, so that they are inherited by all the portfolios using that collection service.

  4. Ability to customize the order of display for portfolio links in a record

    When there are multiple portfolios for one title, such as a journal or newspaper, Alma allows them to be sorted by Rank, Title Asc, or Title Desc. But there are occasions when it would be optimal to custom sort the display. For example, for the title Barron's, we have three ProQuest Central portfolios displaying to the public, each with a different date range.   5. Reflect Community Zone changes in affected portfolios' history tabs

    Alma portfolios in the IZ show a modification date in their history when a change is made based on CZ data. However, the changes themselves are not documented in the portfolio's history tab -- just the fact that a change occurred on that date.

    Some changes are displayed to users in the CZ updates task list, so it's clear that Ex Libris has a way to communicate this at the Institution level.   6. Add bib metadata to custom view for portfolios

    Right now, there's no way to see edition (subfield 250) or publication/copyright date (subfield 260/264) from a list of portfolios.

    These fields should be added to the customize view options for portfolio lists.

  7. Create run now button for Upload Electronic Holdings integration profiles

    Currently, if the integration for an upload electronic holdings profile fails, you have to edit the profile, click save and run, and then monitor the job.

    Users should be able to right click or use the ellipsis button and choose Run Now from the Integration Profile List for any Upload Electronic Holdings integration profiles.

    Upload Electronical holdings Ebook central into specific collections the same way as Elsevier auto upload collections are handeled.

    The interation with Ebook Central is based on a single complete collection, there is no possability to seperate it to specific collections.
    The subscription collection that the title was subscribed from is indicated at the level of the portfolio as part of the portfolio Acquisition tab Purchase Model section.

  9. Add a Create Electronic Portfolio Job

    Post migration we had a lot of electronic resources that migrated to Alma as standalone bibs with no inventory or portfolios attached. Best practice in Alma for e-resources management would be to have portfolios attached to all of these records and to have as many of them sorted into local electronic collections as possible, so that global changes can be made from Admin by running a job.

  10. Display e-ISBN (MARC 020 $a) in e-portfolio repository search results

    Currently the ISBN displayed in e-portfolio repository search results is the print ISBN stored in MARC field 776 $z. Please change to display the e-ISBN stored in MARC field 020 $a, or display both the print ISBN (776 $z) and e-ISBN (020 $a).

    The e-portfolio repository search finds the e-books. In a bib record for an e-book, the e-ISBN is stored in 020 $a, while the print version's ISBN is stored in 776 $z. It just does not make sense to display only the print ISBN, but does not display the e-ISBN in the e-portfolio results.

  12. Add another SpringerLink Integration Profile

    There is one Springer Integration Profile so far, and that profile is for the entire Springer title list. We have "SpringerLINK Contemporary - Community Plus." It is over 2200 titles. I'd like to see an Integration Profile for the collection we use.

  14. The use of "%26" in Static URL is not permitted

    I encountered some rare cases where the permalink of an article contains "%26" as part of the URL. When I keyed this into the Static URL field and hit Enter, this "%26" is immediately converted into the "&" symbol. Even if I tried to double code it (%2526), it doesn't help.

    An example of this link is https://i-law.com/ilaw/browse_lawreports.htm?name=LLR%3a+Insurance+%26+Reinsurance+Plus

    It will be converted to https://i-law.com/ilaw/browse_lawreports.htm?name=LLR%3a+Insurance+&+Reinsurance+Plus and the link is broken.

  16. Enable 776 as a match point for Link Local Portfolios to Community function

    Currently this only works for ISBN/ISSN matches in the 020/022 fields. Many CZ records do not have these fields but do have 776 fields with ISBNs. Enabling this as a match point would greatly improve automatic linking of entire sets.

  17. Improve visibility of Publishing Information for electronic holdings

    The Publishing Information for electronic holdings is extremely valuable for troubleshooting issues with the assignment of availability status for PCI / CDI records, and with the Link Resolver matching of the OpenURL data with Alma records and presentation of services.

    With the Central Discovery Index (CDI) coming, and the associated transition of the management of discovery records out of the separate PCI interface and into Alma, many sites may take the opportunity to update and realign team responsibilities, with more staff in Alma having a need to see this information.

  18. Evaluation Workflow - Close trial, keep data

    The existing Alma Evaluation Workflow does not allow us to CANCEL a POL for an unwanted item, it only allows us to DELETE the POL (and therefore lose the trial/evaluation data).

    The Evaluation Workflow documentation (see step 7 in the link below) suggests that cancelling is an option distinct from deleting, but there is no cancel option in Alma.

  19. Allow customers the option to set date parameters for displaying public notes and authentication notes

    We often use public notes and authentication notes to let users know if a particular service is temporarily unavailable or scheduled to undergo maintenance. Direct linking is disabled whenever these notes are present. We then have to remember to go back into Alma and remove these notes when the service becomes available again. It would be much easier if we could schedule these notes to display only during a specified time period (i.e., during the service maintenance window). Ideally, this would also mean that direct linking is only disabled during the period in which the note is "active."

  20. Add "available for" information to "Electronic" tab in search results (All Titles)

    Currently when searching "All Titles" for something, if there are results that are electronic this information shows up in the Electronic tab. However, from this view we have no way of knowing which library has access to what title in our shared environment because this information is set at the collection, service, or portfolio level through the group settings (aka "available for"). If this information was displayed from the search results screen, this would save us time.
