  1. Make Alma link resolver compatible with EndNote's "Find Full Text" feature

EndNote offers a "Find Full Text" feature that allows users to locate full text for citations saved to their library. The feature can be configured to work with your institution's link resolver. However, according to EndNote customer support, the Alma link resolver is not currently compatible with this feature. This enhancement would allow Alma customers to locate full text for EndNote citations via openURL.

Endnote 20.3 " Find Full Text" can now be configured to locate and download full text for references using Alma's link resolver.

Instruction for setting the integration can be found in the following blog

  2. Make all PNX elements referable in Template URLs (of General E-Services) and Dynamic URLs

In the Template URL of a General E-Service and in the Dynamic URL of a given collection of e-resources you can currently refer to any piece of metadata that Alma has included in the Context Object ("CTO"). The attributes of the Context Object are based on the OpenURL 1.0 standard but while this standard provides slots to convey any kind of locally scoped metadata (e.g. local identifiers) as well as globally scoped metadata (e.g. ISBN, ISSN, OCN, DOI) and descriptive metadata (e.g. author name, book title, journal title, article title) there is currently no way to let Alma include locally…

  3. Add oadoi.org as an option in uresolver

https://oadoi.org/ has recently launched with an open API. It automates linking to an open access version of articles using the DOI (eg finding them in subject repositories or institutional repositories). From a very quick tiny-sample experiment, this could fill about 50% of recent articles that show in Primo for us as "no full-text available".

At least one library has worked to make this available in their installation of SFX - see https://devtools.mpdl.mpg.de/projects/vlib/wiki/SFXTargets/oaDOIgetFullTxt Could something like this be added as an option to Alma's uResolver?

The desired behaviour is that oadoi.org displays as an option if the API's value of is…

November release includes a new linkresolver service for Unpaywall Open Access articles.
The service is disabled by default, in order to enable it set the customer parameter enable_open_access_services_from_unpaywall_api to true.
Some information regarding the way the service works:
    1. If an incoming OpenURL contains a DOI, Alma link resolver will call Unpaywall API.
    2. If the API will return a URL to the PDF of the article the service will appear.
    3. If the API does not return a URL to the PDF of the article the service will not appear.

  4. Direct linking based upon linking level

We are using “direct linking”, which is great when you arrive at the desired article, but some students find it confusing when a direct link takes them to the journal level (for example), instead of to the article level.

It would be great if the direct linking logic could take into account the “linking level” from the Alma electronic collection.

A library could then, for example, choose to enable direct linking for linking levels of "issue", “article DOI” or "article", but not of it is “journal” or “volume”.

A descriptive note could then be added to a collection’s Full Text…

  5. Eliminate display limit of 25 portfolios in Primo

Eliminate the display limit of 25 portfolios in Primo, or at least look at all of them so the ones we have set to so you can apply the Online Services Order. Allow libraries to set their own limit, should they choose to do so, and allow them to set the portfolio order for individual journal titles when they would like to deviate from the default display.

Look at for example the title: Foreign affairs. There 35 portfolios for it. You block JSTOR from even displaying, even though we have it listed as 4th in our Online Services Order.
