How can we improve Alma?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Create Alma search queries and sets with relative dates

    Give customers the ability to query Alma using relative dates. This functionality is currently only available in Alma Analytics, but we would like it to also be available for repository search.

    This functionality would be especially useful for creating sets, particularly logical sets that can be used to populate logical collections. One of the most common uses for collections is to showcase new materials (e.g., books, journals, databases, etc. acquired in the last 90 days).     Dear Community

    I'm happy to inform you that the ability to query Alma using relative dates for Users, will be included in the Alma May 2025 Release. In future releases this functionality will be gradually deployed to additional search types.

  2. Dark Mode/Theme

    Like the title suggest, A dark mode/theme for Alma.
    Having the white background can be very sore on the eyes, and many prefer the reverse ( black background / white font ).

  3. Add "Search within results" box on a set

    Hello,

    It would be very useful if we had a search box of "Search within results", on a set we created with indication rules.

  4. Timeout should be configurable

    Timeout should be configurable to allow for longer timeout than 60 min. This would be helpful for staff who work for example in areas like information services where you need to use Alma several times during the day but not continuously
