How can we improve Alma?

  1. All fields for Alma Digital MARC21 end user deposit form

    Currently the MARC21 form for deposit only support 245$a , $b , $c and 520$a
    However the Qualified Dublin Core form can choose from all DC fields.
    We would like the MARC21 Form to have the option to support all MARC fields. This would bring the MARC21 form functionality in parity with the DC Form functionality.

  2. Restrict Access Policy for Digital representations by Geographical Location

    We would like to be able to restrict access to digital representations by geographical location. The specific use case we have at the moment is that we want to apply for an orphan works license for one of our collections but it would only cover us for the UK so need to be able to restrict access.

  4. Allow multiple collections when adding a digital representation

    Allow multiple collections when adding a digital representation

    By now, when you add a digital representation, you can only choose and add one collection in the process (radio buttons instead of check boxes). If you want to have the digital representations attributed to different collections you need to add the representation afterwards by choosing Manage > Collections > Add Title. It would be very time saving if you could attribute multiple collections to a digital representation in the process of adding a digital representation.

  5. Sort Order option in ALMA for file list displayed in Primo for a Digital Representation

    For files attached to a Digital Representations, provide an option in ALMA to choose a sort order for how these files display in the U-Resolver in Primo.
    This would allow a scenario where the year could be placed at the start of each label (for multiple files in a series) and a choice made in ALMA to display the sort order in Primo so that the file for most recent year is at top of list.   6. Ability to suppress the structure of a Digital Collection from Discovery (Primo)

    When a Collection is created in Alma the structure is visible in Discovery (Primo). We would like to suppress from Discovery the structure of a Collection in Alma. For example, we've created a Collection for which the structure is internal. We don't want to make it visible or accessible by users.   7. Enable linking to Alma viewer selected file

    Use case: User wishes to share a link to the Alma viewer but specify a specific file in a representation. eg. Share a link to chapter 3 in a book where each chapter has a separate pdf.

    eg. https://librarysearch.bond.edu.au/discovery/delivery/61BOND_INST:BOND/1279341110002381

    Use case 2: Instructor wants students to read chapter 3 in the same example above. At present we can only manage the digital representation in the Leganto citation, and instructor has to rely on a public note to advise students to get to chapter 3.

    Hi,
    Thank you for the idea. The requested feature is already included since March release, as part of the new Alma viewer release. PSA screenshot.
    Users can define whether the shared link will highlight a specific file in the representation.
