1. Need a way to look at collections (all formats) in ways other than LC Class

   In many out-of-the-box analytics, the capacity to look at content by LC Class exists. However, LC Class doesn't capture the interdisciplinary nature of some areas of study. Additionally, not all e-resource vendors provide LC classes for eBooks.

   Could it be that one way of achieving this is through assigning titles to collections? This would seem to work since titles of all formats can be assigned to collections in Alma. If Primo does not currently allow for subject-specific "profiles," this would also achieve that functionality since collections can be turned on as a facet.

   The most basic problem to this approach is that collections are not currently known to Analytics. Off-hand, it would make sense to add this to physical items, e-inventory, and digital usage.

   It might also make sense to allow for some functionality that can auto-assign content to collections based on some rules (subject headings?).

2. Add Full Call Number to E-Inventory Subject Area in Analytics for Portfolios

   For e-inventory portfolios, a number of vendors provide an LC call number in the 050 of item’s bibliographic record.
   However, currently, the most complete LC call number field available for the E-Inventory subject area in Analytics is the LC Classification Top Line field. This, however, only stores the combined LC code and classification numbers up-to the first period ; and does not include cutter numbers after the top line. There are no other field in this subject area that was mapped to this latter part of the call number such that it might be possible to combine the two fields to recover the full call number.

   We would like to see options for displaying the full call number added to the e-inventory subject area for electronic portfolios, so as to provide better reporting.

5. Please add location field to the subject area "Funds expenditure"

   At the moment the location field is missing in the subject area "Funds expenditure". We need this field for a report for e.g. open orders. It is only possible to create a report on the library level.

6. Statistical Categories (Crossover between Fulfillment & Users Subject Areas

   Here is my problem. We want our statistical categories linked to Fulfillment. We want to know how many patrons pursuing a Nursing degree are checking out items from the library? Itt does us no good to have data on who is pursuing a nursing degree in the users section, but not be able to link that in the fulfillment section. Because of the design of the statistical categories and the fact that we do not have a way to import every possible degree, job ID, etc. and keep the list up-to-date as it changes, this is how we have them set up:

   We have the following statistical categorizes
   PLAN, PROGRAM, COLLEGE, DEGREE, DEPARTMENT, DEPTID, AND JOBTITLE

   We have these categories mapped into the following category types:
   DEPARTMENT, COLLEGE, JOB, PLAN-PROGRAM, DEGREE

   The actual value of these categories such as the actual degree is put in a note field. So where the actual data we need lies is the Users Section > Statistics Table > Statistical Category & Note fields. Unfortunately I don't see this info anywhere in the fulfillment section. This area is not shared with fulfillment either so you cannot get the information when linking the 2 subject areas.

   I do have the Statistical Category 1-5 fields mapped, but it actually gives you the label of Department, College, Degree, etc. and not the note field associated with these that contains the actual data.

   Having this info available in Fulfillment would be a great improvement to the system. Another way to get at this same information is when doing Patron imports allow the statistical category to be filled in with whatever value is there instead of limiting it to certain ones.

   Here is my problem. We want our statistical categories linked to Fulfillment. We want to know how many patrons pursuing a Nursing degree are checking out items from the library? 7. In Analytics allow an option to split ISBNs into single entries in one column

   At present we get all the ISBNs attached to a record in one cell separated by a semicolon. A function that would allow for the string to display in one column but as separate cells would allow for easier processing once exported to Excel.

   At present the layout displays as

   What would help is to have the option to switch to

   Title: Author: ISBN1:

   This would mean using functions such as V lookup could be performed far more smoothly.

8. Role parameters in Analytics to show circulation desks

   Users subject area in Analytics allows us to add columns up to the Scope, which is the library assigned to the role, but there is no way to go even further to what circulation desks are attached to a role as parameters.

   A call to the Users API retreives this detail, but API calls are not always the right way to go and sometimes one API call to export an Analytics report works better in terms of server performance.

   Please, add the circulation desks attached to a role in a certain scope as a new field in Users subject area.

9. Physical Location in Title Analytics

   We have to have both title and item statistics for each area in our library. There is no problem creating the statistics for items using physical location; however, physical location cannot be combined when doing title statistics. This is very important for us, since the title statistics is a count for the entire collection. This means that even our reserves and "resource sharing" library gets included in the count.

10. Course and reading-list internal IDs should be available via Analytics

    Course-reserves data available in Analytics does not include
    the unique 16-digit identifiers for course and reading lists. They are retrievable only via the API. This is adequate for operations dealing with a single course or reading list, but it would also be useful to be able to obtain, e.g., a listing of all
    courses and their associated ID numbers for a specific academic year, lecturer or department, to facilitate batch operations.

    On the other hand, the IDs for reading-list citations are available from Analytics (Citation ID),
    but there is no field indicating to which course or reading list a particular citation is assigned.

    Course-reserves data available in Analytics does not include

11. Analytics: Retain the External ID even when the item is canceled in Resource Sharing

    Retain the External ID even when the item is canceled in Resource Sharing.
    
    Retain the Ex ID even if the item is canceled. The reason we would like the Ex ID is because it is a patterned identifier and that makes it easy to limit down, where to us the internal ID is just a string of random numbers. Our goal is to be able to run reports on either the Lending or Borrowing Request subject areas in one set. If we need to run some on Ex ID to get the Borrowing and Lending sides to match up and then run more on the Internal ID just to get a full snap shot of our RS environment that is a lot of work. (Created from Redmine - 1525 and Salesforce 00183123.

12. Add Original cataloging agency to Design analytics

    In Alma June 2019 release, Original cataloging agency search index was introduced. I'd like to recommend adding this as an element in Analytics. This will help us generate statistics of original cataloging vs. copy cataloging. Thank you!

13. Add renewal count to the fulfillment subject area of Analytics

    Please add renewal count (the number of renewals allowed for a certain item policy and material type) to the Fulfillment subject area of Analytics.

    Doing so will allow staff to create a Circulation Matrix from analytics that fully details circulation privileges for certain patron groups, material types, item policies, etc. Circulation staff frequently get phone calls from patrons requesting such information.

    The attached Circulation Matrix is a handy way to answer circulation policy questions from patrons, except when they ask how many renewals they are allowed.

15. Add Amount Paid in Current FP to Analytics, Funds Expenditure, PO Line

    This value is very useful when monitoring continuous POL expenditures. Alma documentation states that since it is a calculated value at time of editing, it is not searchable.
    Adding this dimension to Analytics could simplify reporting on which POLs are over or under expended.

16. Add "Has Related Records" Attribute to Titles Subject Area

    When reviewing a repository for bibliographic records with no inventory, the default analysis retrieves many records that are present as parts of bound-withs, or that may have other record relationships. Records have to be reviewed manually or exported and reviewed in other tools to see what relationships might exist.

    Since Alma does identify related records in search results, and in preventing records from being deleted, it would be useful to have an attribute in Analytics that identifies when Alma would determine a record to have related records. An attribute "Has Related Records" could be added to the Title Details dimension of the Titles subject area. Values could be simple "Yes" or "No," or perhaps the value could be elaborated to the specific fields or records involved in a relationship.

    Relationships that should be considered include bound withs (MMS ID or OCLC number of the bib is in the 774$g of another bib), Collections (bib is a collection record with relationships to the bibs in that collection), and for NZ bibs, IZ bibs without inventory that remain linked to the NZ.

Records have to be reviewed manually or exported and reviewed in other tools to see what relationships might exist.

    Since Alma does identify related records in search results, and in preventing records from being deleted, it would be useful to have an attribute in Analytics that identifies when Alma would determine a record to have related records. 17. Add an "added authors" field to the Bibliographic Details dimension in Analytics

    List values taken from MARC fields 700, 710, 711

    I get that this would be achieved if all MARC fields were reportable, as has already been requested, but that seems unlikely to happen so I hope this less ambitious suggestion will be considered.

18. Customization for labels on locally defined LOCAL PARAM subject areas

    Our library requested to have a LOCAL PARAM defined in Alma Analytics. We asked ExLibris to map the 983 field to this field in Analytics so that we could easily run reports using information in this field. However, it is not currently possible to modify the label so as to easily remember/know that this field has been locally defined. Also, as we define more fields, it becomes cumbersome to know which field belongs to which mapped field.

19. Modify the payment method label in Fines and Fees report

    Thanks for ExLibris helping our library to modify the payment method label: changing "Check" to "FEO". However, the payment method label in Fines and Fee report is not being modified accordingly. Is it possible to modify the labels in the reports as well? Or, could we add more payment methods in Fulfillment configuration?

20. Sign to indicate a report/prompt is used on dashboard

    It would be perfect if there is any sign in Analytics catologue to indicate that the report/prompt is being used in dashboard/widget/scheduled job. Currently, we accidentally deleted some reports/prompts that are used in dashboard which caused the dashboard crash. Sometimes we edit some prompts and forgot these prompts are used in other reports. Theses are really annoying. Hope you guys can do something about it. If such a sign is asking too much, then a quick way to generate a list of reports/prompts that are used in dashboard would also help.
