1. Add Scheduler Status to Import Profiles screen

   On the Import Profiles screen, listing all the import profiles, add a new column (next to the Status column) for Scheduler Status. The values would be Active or Inactive, as shown in the import profile. If an import profile has an Import Protocol of Upload File/s, the Scheduler Status should display as Inactive in this new column.

2. Active/inactive indicator for electronic collections

   We propose an indicator - e.g. a yes/no radio button set - to indicate whether or not an electronic collection is active. This will make it easier to exclude inactive electronic collections from searches and Analytics reports. Current methods of indicating this status aren't comprehensive. The bib can be suppressed, and/or the URL removed, but there are other reasons to suppress bib records and remove URLs (such as when we want only portfolios to display in our discovery layer). In aggregator and selective packages, we can delete the service or mark it inactive, but this doesn't apply to database-type electronic collections.

3. Control valid MARC fields/subfields/indicators with XML extension pack

   There are many valid MARC fields/subfields/indicators that my library doesn't use. The local XML extension pack allows you to add fields/subfields/indicators but does not let you say a field should not be used. We would like to control valid fields/subfields/indicators that we could then validate against.

4. Back button in new MD Editor

   Please add a Back button to the new MD Editor. This is necessary in the Relink item records to another bib record process. When we create a new holdings record in the middle of the relink process, the Back button allows us to go back to the relink process, and finish up. 5. Monitor and view imports

   In Alma, imports that come into the system can be available to monitor and view in two different but almost identical areas:

   It is not very user friendly to have two different, almost identical looking areas, to check for and monitor imports like this. Especially as the import profiles themselves can be equally managed via Resources (Manage Import profiles) or Acquisitions (Manage Import Profiles).

   This suggestion is to have all import functions contained in only one area, as opposed to duplication across two areas (Acquisitions and Resources).

6. Merge/overlay authority records

   The merging/overlaying functionality is not currently available for Authority records in Alma.
   It would be very useful, especially in a cooperative cataloguing environment as SBN, where we operate; as a matter of fact, we do not use ready-made bibliographic records prepared by a national agency, but every library contributes to the general national catalogue.

10. Add a new the Resource Type facets for Kit

    Currently, the facet Kit is defined as follow:
    Kit – Physical LDR pos. 06 = o AND 008 pos. 33 = b AND 008 pos. 29 != a,b,c,o,f,q,s

    We sometimes use Kit for electronic material with Leader 06 o (= Kit) and 008 Position 29: s and this is a "Undefined" facet in Alma.

11. MDE menu bar

    Allow customization of the menu bar for the new MDE. Personally I'd add an icon for "view inventory" and a trash can for "delete" These were icons on the old MDE that I used constantly. By making a drag/drop menu bar supervisors could create menu bars for staff based on the tasks. Thank you.

12. Additional keyboard shortcut

    The / as a way of getting back to the top search box from search results is great but doesn't work from within the Metadata editor. When I have dealt with the item record I am left in the List of Items and then want a keyboard shortcut to get back up to search box. Ctrl Alt F used to work but takes me somewhere different now.

14. Ability to publish data from different tags in the holdings record into a single tag per holdings record

    When publishing data for external parties, we would like to be able to combine data from different tags in the holdings record into a single tag in the published record. E.g. we want to export library, location and call number details from tag 852$b$c$h as well as details of volumes held from the 866$a:

    852 8_ $b J $c BJ $h PPPP007189-007195
    866 41 $a v.31:no.1(1970)-v.34:no.11/12(1973)

15. MARC21 local field 930 should be "repeatable" as the same as the other 9XX fields.

    930 is a not special field among 9XX but Alma sets it as non repeatable unlike other 9XX fields. We should use "extension pack" to change 930 repeatable.
    Don't you think 930 should be treated as the same as the other 9XX fields?

16. Sort Subfields Task does not work correctly in combination with Authorities - Preferred Term Correction

    We've defined the following Sort Subfields Task but there seems to be a problem in combination with "GND Authorities -Preferred Term correction"

    711: iagendctkplfs0

    The subfield i which we defined as first in 700/710/711 is suddenly put last. If this happen, the latest job that was run is always Authorities - Preferred Term correction

    In any case, the sorting should be the way we defined it in the Sort Subfields Task

17. Sort Subfields Task does not work correctly in combination with Authorities - Preferred Term Correction

    We've defined the following Sort Subfields Task but there seems to be a problem in combination with "GND Authorities -Preferred Term correction"

18. Browse Shelf Listing: add support to configure the default call number level

    In the Browse shelf listing, currently, the “call number level” is set by default to “Holding call number” and it’s not configurable.
    It’s possible to set a default value for the “call number type” but not for the “call number level”. We would like to have the possibilty to change the “call number level” by default as it's for the “call number type”.

19. When "Add field", Alma should decide whether subfield a should be added depends on the field.

    "Add field" adds [an empty filed + subfield a] under other than the 0XX. However, for example, when we would like to add 035 under 008, $$a is not added and we need to add it by ourselves.
    The setting of that field should be decided at that timing. It seems reasonable to specify 007 to display a form for 007, 008 to display a form suitable for 008, and $$a for non-fixed length fields.

20. Option to delete bib directly from results page

    When viewing a list of search results for holdings or items, there is an option to delete selected holdings or withdraw selected items from the list page, without opening them to edit. Having this function for bibliographic records results as well would be very useful. For example, when we have consolidated holdings from two bibs onto one, we are left with a bib for deletion. There is no need to go through the process of opening it for editing in the MDE only to delete it. A drop down option to "delete bib" would make sense and be much more efficient in such cases.
