1. Push selections back to selectors with note

   We want approvers to be able to push selections back to selectors with a note. This would speed communication regarding selections without having to use separate emails to address concerns.

2. Streamline Rialto related workflows for purchase request initiated order approvals, by Selector assignment redesign

   When initiating a Rialto Market Order via a Purchase Request, there is an unexpected assignment of the order to the Selector after Sending for Approval.
   This causes an additional unnecessary step navigating through a popup for our staff who are Approving the order, requiring them to change assignment from the Selector to the Approver, before they can Confirm approval.
   This additional step only occurs when the starting point is a Purchase Request and does not happen when the starting point is the Market.

   The expected workflow for the Selector:
   Acquisitions > Purchase Requests > Manage Purchase Requests > Unassigned > on a Purchase Request, Search in Market > View all Offers > Add to Cart > select from Shopping Cart > Send Selected to Approval > fill out any mandatory details > Send to Approval

   The expected workflow for the Approver:
   Market > Orders > Orders Awaiting Approval > Approve > Confirm

   Unexpected workflow for the Approver:
   Market > Orders > Orders Awaiting Approval > Approve > Popup: The order is already assigned to another user, this action will assign it to you and apply your changes > Ok > Confirm

   While this may not seem significant initially, our staff perform this workflow many times a day. Every click counts, this is a constant annoyance, and it is completely illogical given a Rialto Selector cannot even approve orders so there is no sense to the assignment.

   The response to submitting a case for this as a presumed defect is that this is actually considered by Ex Libris to be an enhancement request: “Product Management and Development discussed this and determined that the reassign behaviour is as designed. The ownership of the order is inherited from the Selector taking action and owning it from the Manage Purchase Requests page. They advise that we can see about ignoring this step in Rialto in the future, but not at this time.” “This behaviour is a system requirement since Rialto utilises the Alma purchase request infrastructure. When using the 'Search in Market' button, the order assignment is inherited from the purchase request. Assignment needs to be transferred to the Approver before the order can be completed. Product Management agreed that it was not desirable to have an order assigned to a Selector when they can't view the Orders Awaiting Approval page, but it is not currently possible to ignore the assignment in Rialto. Therefore, this is considered an enhancement request.”

3. Allow libraries to toggle the 'Approve and order' option in the 'Manage Purchase Requests' workflow

   We’ve recently discovered that our librarians, despite only having the selector role in Rialto, and thus not being able to directly place orders, are still creating POLs in Alma by selecting the ‘Approve and order’ option in the ‘Manage Purchase Requests’ workflow.

   In our case, a few dozen POLs were created that had no vendor, fund code, shelving location, no platform or access model for eBooks, and no format or edition for print titles. Getting all of this after the fact from the librarians then editing the POLs is quite cumbersome and undoes a lot of the efficiency Rialto otherwise offers.

   I’d love the ability for libraries to toggle the ‘Approve and order’ option on and off, as I can see how a lot of libraries wouldn’t mind or dislike this feature. We’d like librarians to do the ‘Search in market’ option in Rialto, then send us orders for approval with all the information we need for efficiency’s sake.

4. Allow Alma library relationships to control purchasing via Rialto

   We want our staff to have Rialto roles that are scoped only to our National library, and don't want to have to give them Rialto roles that have any other scope. We want them to be able to order electronic books for the National Library, as well as physical books for the other libraries in the institution, but we only want them to be able to do all this while logged into our Acquisitions Department (which is granted to them via the Work Order Operator role having the Acquisitions Department associated).

   We have Library relationships set up in Alma Configuration which allow the National Library to order for all other libraries, but Support has confirmed that these relationships are irrelevant for Rialto. When they only have the National library scope, our Library staff get but then all physical items disappear from their cart and can't be reached. Staff only manage to see the offers in their cart again after we have added more Rialto roles to their accounts that are scoped to the libraries they're ordering for.

   We are trying to achieve centralised ordering, so it's very disappointing that this is not currently possible with Rialto.

   To summarise our request, we want Library staff to be able to do all ordering (electronic and physical) via Rialto while logged into the Acquisitions Department, with a Rialto Purchaser role scoped only to our central library.

5. Improve the ability to run concurrent fiscal years in Rialto

   We generally run concurrent fiscal years in Alma for a short time while completing orders and invoices in one year and begin renewing resources and paying invoices in the next fiscal. When placing a manual POL in Alma a dropdown appears to choose a fund for either fiscal year. But in Rialto the POL defaults to the new fiscal year even if a cart template for the old fiscal year is used. Please align Rialto ordering with Alma and give the choice of using either fiscal year fund.

6. Have weekly order status reports list ALL outstanding orders and indicate those with an updated status from the previous week.

   I receive a report each Tuesday but it only shows orders with a change to the status. It would be more useful to me to have a report showing all open orders and some sort of indicator (or sorted in such a manner) that orders that have been updated (or added) since the previous week are included. I find some orders sit for weeks or months with no action and complete report of all titles would help me to keep better tabs on it.

7. Snag bibliographic records without holdings

   Because we import our own OCLC records for print items, we must first add a Holding to each record before adding the title to the Rialto cart, otherwise Rialto will not snag that record.

   It would be convenient if Rialto could snag records without holdings, and for the purchase process to create the holding(s) instead, as with non-Rialto orders.

8. Multiple selectors

   Librarian selectors like that they can see if a title they would like to order is already awaiting approval. However, they would like to be able to go to the orders awaiting approval and add their name as an additional selector on that item to give it "weight/priority" to order by the Rialto manager. Could there be a way to add additional selector names as a +1 on orders awaiting approval?
