How can we improve Esploro?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Unpaywall OAI-PMH Output

    Here at RMIT University, we would like to make available our open access repository content to Unpaywall. https://unpaywall.org/

    In order to do this, Unpaywall have advised us of two changes that need to be made to our OAI-PMH output to enable harvesting by them.
    Firstly, they require us to configure our OAI-PMH to include clear identifications of the versions of the attached open access files, i.e.. Published Version, Accepted Manuscript and Submitted Version.
    These descriptions are used in our current Esploro Repository instance and it would be ideal if these could be included in our OAI-PMH output. Unpaywall have recommended…

  2. Request access to restricted files via the Research Portal

    In 2020, an enhancement was released that allows repository staff to generate a temporary access link to restricted files. The 2022 roadmap included a second phase of this enhancement that promised a dedicated interface allowing users to request access to restricted files from the Research Portal. See screenshot: https://www.screencast.com/t/TBWet5cr. However, this enhancement was never delivered.

    We request this enhancement be added back to the roadmap.
