Add "one line one cite" feature. Gives people ability to insert in-text citations in programs other than Word or Google Docs.
Our campus is using Microsoft Office 365. The "one line one cite" feature that was available in the Legacy version gives the option of being able to insert citations/create bibliographies in other writing software.
39 votesThank you for your feedback. We don't see this feature being included in the product roadmap at this time, since it isn't aligned with currently most requested functionalities and feature requests.

LibreOffice integration via a plugin (like Write-n-Cite with Word)
Although RefWorks supports exporting bibliographies in ODF format, it's missing the integration with LibreOffice. Other reference management tools do provide this, so it would be useful if RefWorks did as well. Thank you!
36 votesThank you for your feedback. At this time, we don't see this feature in our roadmap, as we are focusing on most requested features. We may revisit this in the future.

Add the ability to resize the window of Write-N-CiteⅢ and WNC4
It may be useful for users to be able to change the window size of Write-n-Cite III and WNC 4 as they like.
26 votesThank you for your feedback. We are not planning any new development for the WnC feature, as WnC is planned to end by Q2 2025. We recommend using the RefWorks Citation Manager going forward. Add Menu for Language Setting on WnC
We can set the language by ourselves when we login to WnC with Legacy RefWorks account, but we cannot when we login to New version's account. Please add menu to set the language even when we login to WnC with New RefWorks accounts! This request is for users who also uses non-English languages in the world, but I think it is needed.

I would like to suggest that an upgrade be written so RefWorks can interface with Scrivener.
It would be very handy to be able to import citations into the Scrivener writing system, as opposed to just having access to Word, etc.

Make RefWorks Citation Manager available offline
I would like RefWorks Citation Manager in Word to be available when working offline, just as Write-n-Cite is.
11 votesThank you for your valuable feedback. Microsoft Office add-ins are web-based. These are always hosted on the provider's web server and are not cached for offline use. The system used by add-ins requires a connection to the provider's web server which verifies the user's license. Add-in manifests are not available for local download and installation.

Bibliography order of citations with same author and year
When creating a bibliography in Word using Write 'n Cite, RefWorks automatically bases the order of citations on the author, then the title. However, when using two different citations with the same author and year, I want the order of those citations to be the same order I used them in the text.
Now I have 'author(2021b)' first in my text, then 'author(2021a)' because it's sorted like that in the bibliography.5 votesAt the end of 2024, WnC will no longer be supported. Please upgrade to RCM, where this functionality is available.

Chicago 17th Author-Date style
Please make the style for Chicago 17th correct in all respects. I have found errors in the citation of journal articles and a chapter in an edited collection. There may be other errors. Strangely, the errors occur in newly entered references, not in references imported from legacy refworks. Also, any editing of an imported reference cause the citation to become incorrect.

Write n cite plug in for Microsoft Word 2017 and later, I cannot cite with RefWorks anymore
Write n' Cite plug-in for Microsoft Word 2017 and later, please. I cannot revert the update as my university won't let me download earlier version packages and I cannot cite using RefWorks anymore.
3 votesFor Word 2016 and above RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) should be used. WnC is for Word 2016 and lower only. RCM is available for Windows and Mac through the Microsoft store. Write-N-Cite - overview of new / old versions
It would be great to have a page where not only the latest version of WnC will be downloable, but also an overview of previous versions and known issues connected with these versions.
Because Proquest rather does not inform about found bugs, I am quite often not sure if it is absolutely necessary to download the latest version or not. We would also be able to better respond to queries from RW end-users who report non-standard RefWorks behavior.3 votesThank you for your feedback. WNC "formatting document" glitch
When using WNC, it is possible to get a glitch, which causes MS Word to freeze to "formatting document" when adding or removing references into the text. This is most likely due to existing "broken" references in the text. I managed to fix this by completely removing the citation and parts of the text surrounding it. Removing only the visibly broken citation in the text and saving caused the problem to reoccur. Problem is discussed here:

Hide/Remove a System Folder
Unidentified folders which are not created/shared in an account are displayed on WNC.
Uncreated/Unshared folders in an account are displayed on WNC. We've heard that they are system folders to sync WNC documents with RefWorks and we cannot hide or remove them at the present specification. Could you please meke it possible?2 votesThank you for your feedback. We are not planning any new development for the WnC feature, as WnC is planned to end by Q2 2025. Cut and paste references in google docs
It would be great if it was possible to cut and paste in google docs without the references in the text you cut out disappears, or aren’t recognized as references when they are pasted into the text again.
They don’t do this immediately but when you update the document or change your citation style.2 votesThis is not technologically possible in Google Docs as this is a Google limitation, which RefWorks cannot change.
