Content

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).

How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.

The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

If you want to add an institutional repository, please open a case and follow the documentation here:

**Please be aware that ideas with no comments or votes for the past three years, and have less than 30 votes, will be closed. The closed ideas will still be available for review, and the votes will be freed up for supporting other content ideas.

**If you are a content provider, please review the submission guides for more information on how to reach out

    Hello,

Following a discussion with EBSCO, we have received the below information from them regarding this request:

    ---

I'd like to inform you that the collections provided are not databases due to which we are unable to provide title lists for these collections. These collections are available as packages in the Holdings Management knowledge base.

The customers can log in to their EBSCO admin account and download the title list for these collections by following the steps provided in the below FAQ.

    https://connect.ebsco.com/s/article/Holdings-Management-Downloading-Your-Holdings

The title lists in the Holdings Management tab can only be downloaded if the packages are selected in their holdings. Also, the title list can be downloaded in KBART format from Holdings Management.

    Hello all,

Following multiple attempts to reach out to this provider (via oai@hbz.uzh.ch), we are unable to establish contact, and therefore are closing this request.

If any community members have a known contact whom we can reach out to directly, we would be more than happy to reopen this request.

  8. Updating the 'Ebook Central Perpetual and DDA Titles' CZ interface name

As we are unable to update CZ interfaces our self, could you consider updating the ProQuest eBook Central Community Zone interface from; “Ebook Central Perpetual and DDA Titles” to "ProQuest Ebook Central"? We currently name the collection in our local Alma environment the same (as we think this might help with indexing) and think it is not very helpful for our students and staff accessing material. We believed that "ProQuest Ebook Central" would be a much more clear collection interface that our users and users in other institutions would understand.
The current CZ collection has MMS ID# 995521883500041.

  16. Add "ACS Symposium Series eBooks - Archives" to CZ

Could you please add the "ACS Symposium Series eBooks - Archives" as a collection in the Alma Community Zone knowledge base?

Currently there's an "American Chemical Society Symposium Series" collection in the CZ which includes backfile and front file titles.

Since my library only owns the archival collection, I have to select only those titles in the larger Symposium CZ collections since there's no separate archive collection.

The archival collection has a 4 year moving wall where it gains a new year of titles annually.

    Thank you.

  20. Need up-to-date 'Westlaw Thomson Reuters' CZ Selective Package

There is no up-to-date ‘Westlaw Thomson Reuters’ Selective Package in the Community Zone. This Westlaw database has had much flux over recent years, including name changes.
Due to internal changes of where particular content is kept in the database, even in the most recent CZ Selective Packages many parser parameter links need to be updated.
