← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

  2. De Gruyter imprint collections, new presses 2000-2023

  14. SAGE Catalyst

    We would like to be able to activate the SAGE Catalyst package of e-books in SFX (and CDI if possible). https://learningresources.sagepub.com/catalyst

    We are currently managing this in SFX with Dataloader, which is not a smooth process since there seems to be some incompatibility issues between the SAGE provided ISBN:s and the ISBN:s in the KB. The Catalyst collection is a core resource for us, including crucial textbooks.

  19. Gale Literature Criticism (International)

    Hello, We'd like a CZ collection/CDI database that represents Gale Literature Criticism in our region. The title lists from Gale show that full-text access differs for "International" (non-US) institutions due to differing rights. At the moment, we have to deactivate specific portfolios from the current Literature Criticism CZ collection so that our correct entitlements are reflected.

  20. Enrich metadata from vendor Editions ENI in the Alma CZ

    The ebook records in the e-collection "Bibliotheque numerique ENI" have currently brief level 3. So generally only ISBNs, publication year and title in their metadata. This is not enough to provide optimal discovery experience for users.

    We would like to ask you to enrich the metadata and enhance the brief level. We are also in contact with the publisher and will post here any feedback from their side.

    Hello,

    The MARC file we received from the content provider contained 863 titles out of 1,029 titles.

    We used the MARC file to enrich the records, and confirming with the provider if we can receive the records for the rest of the collection.
