← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

**Please be aware that ideas with no comments or votes for the past three years, and have less than 30 votes, will be closed. The closed ideas will still be available for review, and the votes will be freed up for supporting other content ideas.

  4. The 2024 Bloomsbury and Faber Screenplays and Criticism Annual Update

    From Bloomsbury we are told to ask ExLibris for the file to be uploaded to Alma Community Zone. We'd like it to be activated both in Alma Knowledge Base and in Primo CDI. See also case no. 06925486. Please let me know if there is any other way to proceed with updating this collection.

  5. Memoirs of the American Mathematical Society 2010-2015

    Can we please add separate collections for each year of the Memoirs of the American Mathematical Society from the years 2010 to 2015? (Totaling 6 new collections)

    2010-2012 are in the backfiles, but 2013, 14, and 15 are missing entirely.

  8. Archaeopress Journals

    We have a small collection of journals that we get from this publisher. We see they are not represented in correct collection in ALMA and also some of the titles are listed as ebooks.

    KU sent us metadata for 2025, and will send a separate title list for 2026 and 2027 once they are fully pledged.

    There is a database that my institution bought and subscribed to, but is not available in the CZ in Alma. It is through Wolters Kluwer and Ovid called "OVID Nutrition and Health Database 1969 to Present." Please consider adding this to Alma.

    There is an EIU Viewpoint database in Alma. Can you ask EIU for metadata to add reports, forecasts, etc. to CDI? Or add portfolios to the collection?

    De Gruyter Channel View Publications eBook-Package 2023 is missing from the Alma KB. My understanding is that the vendor has already supplied the titles for this collection to ExLibris. Although it is a small collection, we would appreciate it if it could be added to the KB as soon as possible. This will ensure that all Channel View titles are discoverable for users.

  17. Target/Collection: ASTM journals hosted on ASME platform

    ASTM (American Society of Testing and Materials) is in the process of moving their journals from their ASTM Standards and Engineering Digital Library database to another society's (ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers)) platform, see https://asmedigitalcollection.asme.org/astm-journals .

    There are portfolios for the ASTM journals set up under the ASME Digital Collection Journals collection (Collection ID: 611000000000000172). I've activated a second version of that collection, given it the 'ASTM Digital Library Journals' public name and activated the ASTM journal portfolios under that collection.   19. Docuseek Complete Collection 4th Edition for Life of File

    Please work with Docuseek to add a collection for the Docuseek Complete Collection 4th Edition for Life of File to the ALMA CZ. Ideally this collection would have full MARC records as you have done with other Docuseek collections such as The Docuseek Complete Collection 3rd Edition Upgrade.

    I know there is already an idea to add Docuseek Complete Collection 4th Edition Upgrade but please also work to add the Life of File collection.
