Improve indexing of HAL in CDI
Hal is one of the most important French open archive. The database offers open access documents directly from the platform and references to documents for which the full text is not available.
In CDI two collections allow to activate the search on this database.
- Hyper Article en Ligne (HAL) (Open Access) (ID CDI VOOES) which covers only open access records.
- Hyper Article Online (HAL) (CDI ID 1XC) which covers all the records in HAL.
Both of the HAL collections are link-in-records databases
The problem is that it shows as unavailable the records to which we could have gained access through our link resolver.
--> Record in HAL : https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/hal-02124364
--> Record in Primo : https://babordplus.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/f/165335h/TN_cdi_hal_primary_oai_HAL_hal_02124364v1
--> Services via lIUnk Resolver : https://pudb-ub.userservices.exlibrisgroup.com/view/uresolver/33PUDB_UB/openurl?ctx_enc=info:ofi/enc:UTF-8&ctx_id=10_1&ctx_tim=2021-01-21T18%3A48%3A38IST&ctx_ver=Z39.88-2004&url_ctx_fmt=info:ofi/fmt:kev:mtx:ctx&url_ver=Z39.88-2004&rfr_id=info:sid/primo.exlibrisgroup.com-hal_p&req_id=&rft_val_fmt=info:ofi/fmt:kev:mtx:book&rft.genre=bookitem&rft.atitle=Valorisation%20du%20biogaz%20et%20traitements%20%C3%A9puratoires&rft.jtitle=&rft.btitle=La%20M%C3%A9thanisation&rft.aulast=Chatain,%20Ohannessian,%20Germain&rft.auinit=&rft.auinit1=&rft.auinitm=&rft.ausuffix=&rft.au=Chatain,%20Vincent&rft.aucorp=&rft.date=2012&rft.volume=2nd%20edition&rft.issue=&rft.part=&rft.quarter=&rft.ssn=&rft.spage=&rft.epage=&rft.pages=&rft.artnum=&rft.issn=&rft.eissn=&rft.isbn=&rft.sici=&rft.coden=&rft_id=info:doi/&rft.object_id=;&rft.eisbn=&rft.edition=&rft.pub=Lavoisier%20Tec&Doc&rft.place=&rft.series=&rft.stitle=&rft.bici=&rft_id=info:bibcode/&rft_id=info:hdl/&rft_id=info:lccn/&rft_id=info:oclcnum/&rft_id=info:pmid/&rft_id=info:eric/&rft_dat=%3Chal_p%3Eoai_HAL_hal_02124364v1%3C/hal_p%3E,language=fra,view=33PUDB_UB_VU1&svc_dat=getit&user_ip={{userIp}}&rft_pqid=&rft_galeid=&rft_cupid=&rft_eruid=&rft_nurid=&rft_ingid=&req.skin=33PUDB
We would like to propose the access to a maximum of document indexed in HAL. Exlibris seemed to be able to distinguish Open access records from records that are not available in full text.
So we suggest transforming the collection Hyper Article Online (HAL) (CDI ID 1XC) to include only titles without full text and to link to the full text via the link resolver.
Thank you for your support.
Hello,
Our analysts suggested this can be solved by the following settings:
- CDI-only full text activation: Unchecked
- CDI search activation status: Active
That will allow distinguishing Open Access records from records that are not available in full text.
Please let me know directly if this is not solving the issue
Kind regards,
