← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s). 
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

    Could you please create a new target, MOHR SIEBECK MAX WEBER EBOOK GESAMTAUSGABE in SFX and add all the objects from the attachement.

    The Max Weber-Gesamtausgabe contains Max Weber's published and previously unpublished texts with the exception of his excerpts, marginalia or editorial comments on the texts of others. Reports written by others on Weber's speeches, his contributions to discussions and his lectures have only been included if there are no accounts of these by the author himself.   4. Add 2018 Community Zone collection for ProQuest Arts Premium, SciTech Premium and Social Science Premium collections

    We have renewed our subscriptions to the following three collections:

    ProQuest Arts Premium
    ProQuest SciTech Premium
    Social Science Premium

    However, when we look in the Community Zone for suitable collections, the most recent ones are from 2016. In this time, the number of titles in these packages have grown significantly and now the CZ collections fall short by 800 titles for Arts Premiums and thousands 4000 titles for both SciTech and Social Science Premium. It is to large a task to put these remaining titles into these collections manually.

    I would request that you create new 2018 Community Zone collections…

    Please add "Westlaw Next" on Summon. "Westlaw next" is legal field online research tool. It is very useful for users to be able to search case law contents in it on Summon.

  12. Flag PCI/CDI Content That Appears on the Beall's List as "Potentially Predatory"

    We have noticed that certain content in the PCI/CDI overlaps with content listed on the Beall's List of Predatory Journals and Publishers (https://beallslist.net/). For example, all journals by Iris Publishers and Crimson Publishers that are indexed via CrossRef are indexed in the *** ALL CrossRef Collections *** and Rest of CrossRef collections not specified. However, discovering this information on our own is very time-consuming. Could Ex Libris systematically flag PCI/CDI content that appears on the Beall's List as "potentially predatory" so that institutions could more easily decide if they would like to include this content in their Primo…

  20. Add Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) content to Primo Central Index

    Could you work with Centre for Economic Policy Research to add metadata for their publications to Primo Central Index? This is a critical source for working papers for economists. Access to their content requires a subscription. Currently, there is an Alma CZ collection with a very small subset of the CEPR's publications.I have not been able to find a collection in Primo Central Index to turn on for this publisher.
