← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s). 
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  2. Add new titles to Library of Catholic Thought (DB Code AMYDM)

    Hello,

    Please update the title list in 360 for Bloomsbury T & T Clark Catholic Library (Code AMYDM). The Last Full Update was summer of 2022: 07/08/2022

    Bloomsbury has added more titles to their Library of Catholic Thought (in Theology & Religion Online).

    The newly added content consists of:

    10 volumes of the reference work, The Ante-Nicene Fathers: Translations of The Writings of the Fathers Down to A.D. 325. These are newly digitized versions of old texts, now available in an xml and cross-searchable format on TARO:

  3. Update eBooks on EBSCOhost (code CZZ) title list / Add "Poetic Living : Theological Education, Culture, and Pastoral Ministry..."

    Our president and several of our faculty have contributions in Poetic Living : Theological Education, Culture, and Pastoral Ministry: Essays in Honor of M. Craig Barnes (2023), https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&AuthType=shib&db=nlebk&AN=3670936&site=ehost-live&custid=s3218615 . The collection was last updated 8/20/23 and this title, presumably added since then, is not in the Client Center/360 KB.

  12. Add Harvard University Press (DeGruyter) Ebook Collections to CZ

    Could you please add each of the various Harvard University Press ebook packages as separate DeGruyter collections in the Community Zone? For example, complete Harvard collections by publication year, subject, archive, backlist, etc.

    Currently, there’s only a “de Gruyter eBooks Complete” collection (50,403 titles) in the Community Zone that includes Harvard University Press titles so I had to manually select them within the larger collection.

    It would be much easier if there were separate Harvard University Press ebook collections in the CZ.

    The addition of individual portfolios can be done directly in the Alma CZ by your institution via the contribution mechanism.
