← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

**Please be aware that ideas with no comments or votes for the past three years, and have less than 30 votes, will be closed. The closed ideas will still be available for review, and the votes will be freed up for supporting other content ideas.

How can we improve Content?

    Please add CDI coverage for ProQuest Historical Newspapers: The Baltimore Afro-American (All Years) Collection ID: 614940000000000323. This collection currently covers 1893-2010.
    There is existing Link in record coverage for ProQuest Historical Newspapers: The Baltimore Afro-American (1893-1988) Collection ID: 614340000000000184, but it doesn't cover the full range of dates we are subscribed to and doesn't actually seem to be indexing any articles. For example, I cannot get this article to appear in Primo search results:

  4. Update Bloomsbury Professional Online on 360KB

    Please update the Bloomsbury Professional Online database on 360KB (database code AAYGJ)

    The last update to this database on 360KB has been in 2020. It currently only includes 4 titles on 360KB, one of which (Medicine, Ethics and the Law) we don't subscribe to. (For some reason, we cannot select "We subscribe to only some of the titles in this database" tickbox for this database on 360KB to untrack this title or hide it from Summon.)

    We're particularly looking for an inclusion of the subsection 'International Tax Service' (9 titles) to make these discoverable to our users.

  6. Add PsycTherapy collection for Ebsco

    There is no working collection for PsycTherapy for Ebsco. Using the proquest collection does not solve direct linking and requiers constant updates off the linking to work

  8. Add QNL open repository to CDI for Summon

    HBKU library cooperated with Qatar National Library in their digital repository (https://www.qnl.qa/en/manara-repository/about), and we are looking to allow the repository content to be discoverable through Summon.

    According to Springer and BIBSAM, the collection ID 5510000000000333, Springer Nature - BIBSAM TA is replacing the Springer Compact annual colelctions and should be activated as Springer Compact BIBSAM 2024.

    Our president and several of our faculty have contributions in Poetic Living : Theological Education, Culture, and Pastoral Ministry: Essays in Honor of M. The collection was last updated 8/20/23 and this title, presumably added since then, is not in the Client Center/360 KB.

  15. De Gruyter Mellon Lectures

    Hello,
    We purchased a new collection from De Gruyter - Princeton Mellon Lectures. This includes 46 lectures published between 1953 and 2022.
    Could you please investigate whether is it possible to have a discrete collection created for these titles? I'm aware that they are available in the community zone in general De Gruyter ebook collections -- a discrete collection is preferable.

    Please update the title list in 360 for Bloomsbury T & T Clark Catholic Library (Code AMYDM). The Last Full Update was summer of 2022: 07/08/2022

    Bloomsbury has added more titles to their Library of Catholic Thought (in Theology & Religion Online).

    The newly added content consists of:

    10 volumes of the reference work, The Ante-Nicene Fathers: Translations of The Writings of the Fathers Down to A.D. 325. These are newly digitized versions of old texts, now available in an xml and cross-searchable format on TARO:
