How can we improve Alma?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Improve Alma Job Reports for Failed Record

    It would be extremely helpful if more details were given when there are failed records or records with exceptions on the jobs we run in Alma. Many of the job reports only report the number of failed records. It would be great if the report would provide MMSID information so the we know what records failed.

    Hi all, thank you again for this valuable suggestion.


    We recognize the importance of providing more detailed information in job reports, particularly for failed or exception records, to support faster investigation and resolution processes.

    We are planning to address this topic as part of the Alma roadmap for 2027.

    Given the wide range of jobs and variations in how reports are generated, this improvement cannot be delivered as a single centralized change. Instead, enhancements will be implemented gradually, with specific jobs being improved and released independently by the relevant functional teams.

    As part of this effort, we will prioritize the most impactful jobs across different functional areas. We appreciate your input, which helps guide our prioritization.

  2. Cursor auto-return to search box.

    Each Alma search involves re-clicking the search box to restart the search process. Time consumer when searching lists of items. Many websites have a feature in which the cursor auto-returns to the search box. Please add this feature.

    Dear Community,

    The requested behavior is the existing behavior for pages and search types of the new UI. We will align this behavior to search types which are still in the classic UI.
