How can we improve Rialto?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.

  1. Display 'Search in market' workflow option for citations where this process has already been used to make a purchase

    We review reading lists in Alma and where we need to make a purchase, we click the 'Search in market' option on the relevant citation to initiate the Rialto marketplace lookup which uses the purchase request type workflow to link the item to the citation.

    We have found that sometimes this 'Search in market' option is not available (although this is inconsistent across citations and I don't know why) in cases where a copy has previously been purchased using the 'Search in market' workflow. It does not make a difference if the previous order was placed by a different member…

    Hello,

    Thank you for creating this enhancement request. We (Rialto and Leganto product) understand the workaround of duplicating the citation is not an ideal workflow. If we are able to schedule the request, the solution would be to allow for purchasing the same copy of the book (format/edition/ISBN) to prevent the original mmsid and citation details from being overwritten. As we aren't able to provide a timeline, please check back often and vote for the ideas you support to receive status and comment updates.

  2. Improve integration between 'Place on hold' in Rialto and Tasks widget in Alma

    If the 'Place on hold' option is ticked when placing an order in Rialto, there is no notification in the Tasks widget in Alma to let Library staff know when an item has arrived. This means we are unable to prioritise the processing of those items. If we were to use 'Place on hold' in Rialto, then we wouldn't find out an item had been requested until we happened to scan it in.

    Could integration between Rialto and the requests functionality be improved please to make it apparent to Alma users when items received have been requested?

  4. Add Material Type field to the Purchase Request info displayed in Rialto

    When a Purchase Request is submitted via Primo and Acquisitions staff "search in market" the Purchase Request information shows to the right of the results list. Unfortunately Material Type is not included so there is no way to know if the patron requested a Print or Ebook copy of the book.
