Content

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).

How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.

The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

  1. Making the peer reviewed icon more accurate

Articles and journals are marked with the peer reviewed icon in Primo based on information extracted from Ulrichsweb (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Ulrich%27s/Product_Documentation/Searching/Ulrichsweb%3A_Peer-Reviewed_Refereed_Journals_and_Academic_Scholarly_Journals).
The Peer Review indicator can only be set at the journal level at the moment. If a journal is identified as peer reviewed, or refereed in Ulrichsweb, all articles from this journal will be shown with the peer reviewed icon in Primo.
However, not all articles in such journals are peer reviewed, meaning the icon sends the wrong information to user, and that this label is not reliable. It can further cause users to lose confidence in the system.…

  2. Add AIATSIS thesauri to the CZ subject authority files

As a cataloguer, I would like to see the AIATSIS thesauri made available in the Community Zone authority files for 6XX subject fields.

    BENEFITS

    • Make it easier for cataloguers to validate AIATSIS subject headings
    • Enable routine review and updates of AIATSIS subject headings through the Authority Control Task List
    • Enrich Primo searches for end users, using non-preferred terms (especially synonyms for people and language groups)
    • Promote AIATSIS thesauri to Australian libraries

While specific libraries can import and manage AIATSIS subject headings as local authorities, I think this vocabulary should be made available in the CZ authority records, since it is…

  3. Can you please create a separate platform for ‘ScienceOpen’ to track title by title content available via ScienceOpen?

    Hello,
Can you please create a separate platform dedicated for 'ScienceOpen' if convenient as Taylor and Francis have announced that they will not be publishing 'Review of African Political Economy' after completion of Volume 49, Issue 178, 2023 and the journal will be published through Science Open in 2024 instead? Looks like the main URL is https://www.scienceopen.com/
    Thanks!
    Best,

    Hello,
We will reach out to the provider and ask for the metadata for this collection.

If you have a dedicated contact person you can share, that would be helpful.
    Thanks,
