← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

**Please be aware that ideas with no comments or votes for the past three years, and have less than 30 votes, will be closed. The closed ideas will still be available for review, and the votes will be freed up for supporting other content ideas.

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  2. CZ Collection Request: CAUL SpringerLink Journals 2017

    UQ requests the addition of a new CZ journal collection for the 2017 Springer offer to the CAUL consortium.
    There is currently no collection available that covers these specific journals and holdings.
    The publisher has indicated that the list and records were supplied to ExLibris in April - please check correspondence from that period.

    Encyclopedia of the bible and its reception is a database from DeGruyter. It's in 360 link already and not in Summon. Please add it to Summon as a database.

  4. SFX Target for Oxford University Press Open Access titles.

    Please consider starting a separate target for Oxford University Press Open Access titles.
    Currently these titles are in HIGHWIREPRESSFREE. However the linking goes to the Oxford Univ. Press online site. This redirection may not last since Oxford has pulled content from the Highwire platform.

    64 titles currently in HIGHWIREPRESSFREE that are published by Oxfore Univ. Press.

  5. Add Gale Literature Resource Center Ebooks Collection to CZ

    Could you please add a Gale Literature Resource Center ebook collection to the Alma Community Zone knowledge base? The current Literature Resource Center collection only contains journals.

  6. Add American Chemical Society Journals and Ebooks to Primo Central Index

    Could you please add American Chemical Society (ACS) journals and ebooks as a collection in the Primo Central Index?

    Although ACS content is currently included in the Cross Ref PCI collection, they're only brief citations.

  7. Add Harvard University Press (DeGruyter) Ebook Collections to CZ

    Could you please add each of the various Harvard University Press ebook packages as separate DeGruyter collections in the Community Zone? For example, complete Harvard collections by publication year, subject, archive, backlist, etc.

    Currently, there’s only a “de Gruyter eBooks Complete” collection (50,403 titles) in the Community Zone that includes Harvard University Press titles so I had to manually select them within the larger collection.

    It would be much easier if there were separate Harvard University Press ebook collections in the CZ.

    Dear support

    the titles in the attachment are ebook- and journal titles of publisher COMPLIANCEDIGITAL. We ask for the enrichment of the target COMPLIANCEDIGITAL, which already exists. Further we noticed that 2 ejournals are open access (see the green colored rowes in the appendix ).
    If possible, we suggest an separate ebook-subtarget, a separate subtarget for the open access journals and an third subtarget for the chargeable journals .
