← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

**Please be aware that ideas with no comments or votes for the past three years, and have less than 30 votes, will be closed. The closed ideas will still be available for review, and the votes will be freed up for supporting other content ideas.

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Update/Add content from Highwire in Primo Central Index

    One of our key AAP textbooks is hosted on the Highwire platform, but the PCI is not currently receiving content from Highwire (according to the PCO analyst who was handling my support case). Can current content on Highwire please be added to the Discovery Indexes. The content is already in the Knowledge base (SFX). Thank you

  3. CRCnetbase

    Hello,

    It would be great if there was a complete CRCnetbase collection which consisted of all the titles in existing CRCnetbase subject collections for example ENGINEERINGnetbase and AGRICULTUREnetbase. This would clean up our LMS as we would have one instead of 30 collections.

  8. American Physiological Society journals

    American Physiological Society journals have changed platform from Highwire to Atypon. The CZ Highwire press American Physiological Society collection is not valid and contains incorrect links. Please create a new collection for American Physiological Society journals.

  9. finish indexing International Journal of Mass Emergencies and Disasters (IJMED) articles

    Only 26 IJMED (ISSN 0280-7270) articles are indexed in Summon. It would be invaluable to be able to access all 24 years' worth of articles through Summon.

  10. I would like Summon to index the CCH Australia collection from Wolters Kluwer

    The purchasing of content is optimized when users can access the content via Summon. Particularly content that is not well represented such as Law within our geographic zone.
    When vendors are agreeing to have their content in the KB I think they are automatically assuming that this allows the content to be used within Summon.

  11. Peer reviewed open access books by UTS ePress

    UTS ePress publishes open access manuscripts and learning resources in the social sciences/humanities, business, education, design, and law fields. These resources are globally relevant and have been accessed from every continent. Increasing greater access to these resources will be of benefit to those searching for open access, peer-reviewed academic works. The publisher is open to working with Ex Libris in facilitating the creation of this new collection within the Knowledgebase.

  12. taylor and francis

    Currently in Primo Central the only available resource collection for Taylor and Francis journal content is 'Taylor & Francis Journals - Online'. Could more granular resource collections be made available (as occurs at journal title level in the Alma Community Zone collections) reflecting the different subject areas?

  16. New target for Recueil de cours de L'Académie de droit de La Haye

    Hello,
    We see that there are targets for Recueil de cours de L'Académie de droit de La Haye in SFX but they are consortia targets. It still means that we can request a target for this. It would be a target for everyone, not for a consortium.
    The difficulty would be in getting a list by book and not divided by chapters like the one I got and attached.
