← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s). 
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

  2. EMBOpress

    Hello,

    Beginning this year, EMBO Journal ISSN 0261-4189, along with all other journals published by EMBOpress, left Wiley to Springer Nature. However, the journal is only published through cooperation with Springer Nature and not on the Springer Nature platform. Currently in ExLibris, there is no appropriate database for this journal. There are plenty of Wiley databases that remain. However, because this journal is no longer published through Wiley, I would rather not use those holdings. My question/idea is, can you please create a provider for EMBOpress, which would include EMBO Journal and all other journals published through EMBOpress?

    Please add CZ and CDI records for LOT Dissertations (Landelijke Onderzoekschool Taalwetenschap, the Netherlands National Graduate School of Linguistics).

  5. Add Archaeology Data Service Library

    Please could you add Archaeology Data Service Library as a collection? The content of the Library is a mix of full-text records and reference-only records, but we would be mainly interested in being able to access the full-text records from Primo. The content is freely accessible to all.

    There's no suitable database that currently matches the vendor and content in the attached list of titles. These 700+ titles are part of the "QuickLaw Canada" package we offer on the Lexis Advance platform. Could you please add as a database to your ERM Intota?

    "新建築データ(SHINKENCHIKU DATA)" is an online database of Japanese biggest journal of architecture.

    Both paper version of this journal and this database are widely subscribed in many universities in Japan.

    These population datasets are valuable for GIS researchers and are intended to aid in emergency preparedness, readiness, response, and recovery missions; risk assessments; site suitability studies; and a full range of other applications that depend on accurate population data.

  12. Add Kortext as an e-book provider

    Please could content from Kortext (https://www.kortext.com/) be added to the KB?

    They are an e-book provider - we currently have a collection of books from them that are only in Summon via a LSH and would love the user experience / discoverability for these books to be the same as that for other e-book providers.

  14. Add CanLII (Canadian Legal Information Institute) journals to a CZ e-collection

    I would like to see a CZ for CanLII (Canadian Legal Information Institute Journals added and maintained in the Alma Community Zone so that these freely available law journals can be found by the increasing number of Canadian academic libraries using Alma/Primo.
