  1. Confess too much syfy latest tech/ holographic multi display of information - data, text, and image

Too much syfy with shows of futuristic clear desk using touch tech to activate a surface screen or project a holographic screen which can then be tapped to display information in a variety of simultaneous formats... and ... uses voice recognition.
Let's do it, show it, promote it, at least encourage prototypes.

  2. Make back button work as expected

The back button in Summon has to be pressed twice if the user wants to return to the previous site. The back button works between Summons own pages, but when backing for example to the library start page, the user has to click twice. This is a user problem. The users press the button once and then think it does not work. It is also an accessibility problem.

  3. Display more than 1000 records in a result

This is the most requested improvement from our faculty and graduate students. They find it frustrating that they are not able to view more than 1000 of the results.

Summon does not allow for deep paging into search results for a variety of reasons including:

    1. Performance—multiple deep queries at the same time could easily overwhelm the system or allow for a Denial of Service attack.
    2. Protecting content—as part of our role as stewards of the Summon Index, we need to ensure the entire contents of the index are not available for bots or other unwanted traffic to extract or mine all metadata from the index.

Using facets the user should be able to reduce the number of results into less than 1000 result chunks.

  4. endnote

The EndNote export format includes three very long URLs - all of which are useless. They appear in the RIS file as U5, U6 and UR. I would like the ability to remove or suppress these fields

  5. Revert Credo reference at Topics

Summon used to display Credo references at Topic (right pane). It looks they have gone. Please revert the feature. (IIMB)

While Credo is not showing up for some common topics, it is still available via Topics. We've researched to see if this is due to a recent change in Credo content, but we do not see any significant changes in the content in the last year. If you are using Credo, it's good to have a secondary source to be able to display when a Credo topic is not available.
