  1. sru

The SRU does not support the exact operator (==) only the contains (=) in alphanumeric indexes. This would mean that when we search for for instance an ID, we also get in return documents where the ID searched for is part of another ID. This gives us problems if we want to for example updated the bibliographic records based on the result. Then we need to be sure that we get the correct result-list.

Example: Searching for this ID: 20522 returns two books that are linked to the authority 20522 , but also a document with this ID in 650$$0…

  2. Change the Network Number field in Analytics to use a semicolon between subfields in addition to fields.

The Network Number field in Analytics includes a number of fields, including 035$a and $z, 019 $a and $z, and some 7xx linking fields. The documentation says the delimiter is "; ".

What actually happens is that the delimiter is present only between fields, not between numbers in repeatable subfields in the same field. If an 035 contains one $a and three $z subfields, there will not be a semicolon delimiter between them, only a space. This makes it difficult to parse out individual fields, and not possible to find erroneous numbers with a space in the subfield.

  3. Make "Automatically print slip" toggle available when scanning in Fulfillment Network items

When we receive requested items from Fulfillment Network libraries via Scan In Items, the hold slip doesn't print because the "Automatically print slip" option disappears as soon as we select the "Item from another institution" checkbox. We would like the "Automatically print slip" toggle to remain available regardless of which institution's item we're scanning. The option was added to the Resource Sharing Receiving Items screen in 2017, and it seems logical (and necessary) in this situation as well.

  4. Configuration option to default brief citation placement to either Network or Institution

Currently when creating a brief citation for course reserves, the default option is to place the citation in the network zone. It would be better if the default placement was configurable. It's easy to overlook this option and we never want to put our brief citations in the network zone, but end up doing so inadvertently many times.

  5. Optionally expose user groups to fulfillment network

We would like to circulate items to fulfillment network member patrons based on their user type in their home institution.

This means that the linked account rules need to be based on Source Institution + Source Institution User Group.

This could be made an optional feature so that Fulfillment networks that did not want to share that level of detail didn't have to.

  6. Display the item description (300 field) in the results list of a Network resource search

When searching for the correct catalog record for books that are often reprinted by the same publisher (like classical poetry or foreign travel handbooks), and the Network Zone has several records for that title, publisher, and year - it would be nice to see at a glance which record is for a book with 50 pages vs the one with 60 pages.

  7. View only electronic inventory role

It would be great to have a role that could view all information related to electronic collections and portfolios but not edit them. This would be helpful for overlap analysis and viewing other details for individuals who should not be able to edit electronic inventory. One use case would be for network zone access for members of a consortium who access but do not maintain consortial resources.

  8. Add a mapping structure for normalization/merge rules in MDE

The numbers of normalization rules is getting quite annoying. When we are in a consortium we also see every rule in the network zone.
I would like a posibility to create folders like in Analytics.
This would be helpful to group rules by institution or category.

    Dear all,

We carefully evaluated the potential effects and risks of this change and decided to continue with the current behavior where you can use filter to find your rules. While we understand this may not be the desired outcome, we want to recommend to use an effective way to find easily your rules by creating them with a naming convention (i.e. name of campus, library, name of members, indication of IZ or NZ origins, category ...) and use the already existing filter to locate easily your rules.

We remain committed to enhancing our systems and will continue to evaluate possibilities for improving consortia support in the future. Your feedback is invaluable, and we encourage you to share any additional ideas or concerns you may have.

We are closing this idea so that you will be able to use your votes for other enhancements you would like to promote.

  9. Allow API clients to include/exclude fields in the response data

It would be great if API clients could include/exclude fields of the response data of API calls.

The rational behind this stems from a use case of our own:

When making calls to the Alma and also Primo APIs we get a huge chunk of data back from which we only need a small portion. If we were able to make an API request in which we could specify upfront which fields we would and/or wouldn't need would: (1) prevent all that overhead data, (1) reduce the network traffic and (3) increase the response speed.

    The functionality that is necessary…
