Don't Reassign a Reading List after "saving" a change
Using the "assigned to me" is an effective way to organize internal staff workflows - reading lists assigned to me are the reading lists, i'm responsible for. However, occasionally a co-worker may modify a reading list in someone's absence and after saving the change the reading list gets automatically reassigned to that individual who made a change. This confuses internal staff workflows and who is working on what reading list.
Once a reading list is assigned to a staff member is should remain as such unless it is manually reassigned to another staff member. Saving a change should not impact who the list is assigned to.
This is already supported, by a parameter. Go to Fulfillment Configuration > General > Other settings and look at the parameter rl_auto_assign. You can have it not assign lists at all, only assign when the list is not already assigned, or assign to the user who last worked on it.
