When a loan due date is shortened due to patron expiry, Alma will retain and internal an indication for that on the loan record. This way when the patron expiry is updated (shortened OR extended) the loan due date will be recalculated using the loan date (i.e. as if the recalculation is happening at loan time).
This way, the due date may be extended or shortened according to the new expiry date.

An error occurred while saving the comment Bill Constantine commentedI agree. The resources staff need to be able to quickly set up and take down import profiles as we get many types of files coming in from different vendors and they sometimes need slightly different profiles. Yes, import profiles are a very powerful tool and they need to be managed carefully. However resources staff have access to other equally powerful tools eg Normalization Rules and I am sure that each library has worked out how to work with them and which staff have access to them and which ones do not. We should not have to get systems admin staff to have to set up import profiles for profiles we may only use a couple of times for particular files. Systems admin staff should be configuring more long term parameters, eg opening hours, terms of use, etc, etc.

Citation would be a little more complicated because of the choice of citation styles. However, it is worth having the feature even if ExLibris has to do a bit of work to add the extra layer for the choice. It has my 3 votes.

After reviewing this idea, Alma Product Management has decided to update our development plans to include this suggested change. Thank you for your contribution
An error occurred while saving the comment Bill Constantine commentedThe inability to go from Alma Excel output to Analytics is the problem. What we need is a unique ID in a column in the Excel output that can then be inserted into Analytics having used the very powerful Search and Indication Rule options in Alma to get the bib records I want. For me, MMS Id is the most important. Once I have this, I can add semi-colons to the end of each MMS Id and put them into a filter in Analytics i.e. MMS Id >contains any>[long line of MMS Ids with semi-colons between them] From there I can do anything to do with bib titles. For other people it might be a Portfolio Id or a POL number or similar.
I think this is an excellent idea.
