  1. More possibilities for the Alma Color Theme

In the new UI, libraries can manage branding in Alma by selecting one of 6 basic colors (blue, purple, red, green, brown, orange). This configuration can only be made by a General administrator and is valid for all Alma users. We would like:
    - a larger variety of colors (proposing the 216 web-safe colors would be fine);
    - the possibility for any user to define their own Color Theme: color experience may be very different from one individual to another and giving everyone the possibility the use a convenient color would be appreciated.

    • Export slips to PDF

Currently, Alma only allows exporting slips to Excel or "printing" to an email address. Please *please* add an option to export to PDF, using similar output that gets sent to a printer. Seems like it would be easy to add, and would be immensely useful.

      • Option to increase number of results displayed in Alma

It would be really helpful if we could choose how many results to display in various areas of Alma such as e-resource collections/portfolios, jobs, etc. Currently only 20 results display at a time. Perhaps you could give users the option of displaying 10, 20, 50, 100, 250? I realize that many search results can be exported to Excel but it would be nice if we could choose to display more within the Alma interface.

        • Model the Course/Reading List association as a many-to-many relationship

We need to be able to affiliate the same reading list with multiple course objects in Alma. Currently, reading lists can only be assigned to a single Alma Course object at a given time. At our university with a complex course timetable structure we need to be able to accommodate complex relationships between cross-listed and "meets with" courses. For these courses, we must accommodate a single course that is offered by multiple departments or at multiple course numbers (e.g., undergraduate and graduate versions of the same course "meet with" each other by sharing a lecture).

          For example, our Computer Sciences…

          • Display logic rules should work on Primo users NOT logged in

Display logic rules currently only work if a user logs in Primo. Also, the rules only work to hide a service (not show a service). Also, Primo New UI does not allow forcing users to log in.

So, we have a scenario where we want CCC Get It Now articles to display only for our Faculty user group. However, the article links are displaying to everyone (guest) - until the user logs in and then the links are hidden for everyone except our faculty. Because everyone starts out in Primo as guest, this defeats the purpose of the rule.

            Another…

            • View the operator's name in the top corner in new UI

in the old UI, the operator's name is visible in the top right corner. This enables employees at a busy, standing service desk to see who is logged in where and avoid using each others' accounts. In the new UI, it's visible only from the home page.

              • Add link to 'note' tab in actions menu

We quite often have to add notes to electronic collection records that advise users of outages. Some vendors have nearly 100 collections in their inventory that each need to be updated when there's an outage.

It would be less time-consuming to add a note to multiple records if there was a link to the note tab in the 'actions' menu.

                • Make credit and debit figures easy to distinguish

The current use of "-" to designate a credit can be easily overlooked. A more conventional display using "()" would also be more visible.

                  • File differences included with Release Notes

It would be very helpful if ExL included a Differences report (.diff file) for the Delivery-System-Skin mashup CSS file (mashup_new.css) and also any Letter-template XSLT files which have changed for each new Alma Release, and to post them alongside the Knowledge Base article for the release (ie. https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/0099_2017/May_2017 ).

Any institution which has made local customizations based on these files needs to perform a manual review each month. While this isn't so horrific for the single mashup_new.css file, it is for the Letter-templates. Having a section which lists the differences would be a huge time-saver. Bonus points for a human…

                    • Make the Alma new UX search default saving settings optional

The new UX's feature of retaining a user's past 10 searches seems to override browser or computer specific settings to remember more than the most recent 10 searches. Our acquisitions department tried to keep a running list of many of our more complex standing orders, which was a great time saver. This feature was especially useful for cases where transliteration can lead to variations in spelling -- Dostoevskii vs. Dostoevsky vs. Dostoyevsky.
For this reason, we'd like to be able to shut the feature of remembering the most recent searches off, if we want to on an individual user basis.

                      • Exclude operator roles from "start now" option in scheduled jobs in sandbox environment

As of now every role that has permission to monitor jobs in production can use the "start now" option in the scheduled jobs list in the sandbox. Several operator roles have this permission, e.g. purchasing operator, resulting in an unwanted and uncontrolled run of an institutional job by library staff testing our sandbox environment.
Therefore, we would like this permission to be restricted to manager or administrator roles. If that means, that operator roles need to be stripped of the permission to monitor jobs in production that would be fine for us. We hope that we do not have to…

                        • Dismissing 'errors' from health check reports.

In the Alma health check reports we see a number of 'failed' messages every time they run (we have it on a monthly schedule) due to deliberate configuration decisions to support business processes, which are picked up in the jobs. These include things like self check profile configuration, service desk configuration (payments can only be made at only one of our libraries, at one service desk - all other service desks keep showing up as failed)

It would be helpful if these types of error messages could be 'dismissed' or marked as 'dismissed' and show the date they were dismissed…

                          • Ability to customize Discovery display labels for work orders down to the status level

For Discovery display labels (labels in Primo), all work order types (fulfillment, bindery, and acquisitions) are controlled through the following two customizations:

                            1) c.uresolver.getit2.item_list.status.WORK_ORDER_DEPARTMENT.
with_expected_date In process of {0} until {1} (where 0=Work Order Type, and 1=Work Order Days to Process)

                            2) c.uresolver.getit2.item_list.status.WORK_ORDER_DEPARTMENT.
with_no_expected_date In process of {0} (where 0=Work Order Type)

So, currently, we cannot customize down the the statuses setup (local to us) under the work order departments, but this would be helpful to do. For instance, we have fulfillment work orders with a status of Trace Requested, for items that are lost and being searched for, but…

                              • Configuring different sender e-mail addresses (SMPT-envelope-from) for one letter-type

For now the SMTP-envelope-from definition for Alma Letters can be set only once per letter-type. This isn’t suitable. E.g., our libraries need more than one sender email address for different acquisition departments. Vendors should be able to reply directly to the departments E-Mail-address. Using one no-reply-address (as SMTP-envelope-from value) in combination with a “reply-to”-addresses written in the Mail Footer cannot be a permanent solution.

                                Actual situation in Alma:
When an E-Mail is send in the context of a job Alma takes the SMTP-envelope-from value from the „addressFrom”-definition in the concerning letter-configuration (general configuration -> letter emails).
                                When an E-Mail is…

                                • Adding new labels to a letter in Alma

                                  In Alma/Administration/General Configuration/Configuration Menu/General Configuration/Letter emails
I want to add new labels with translation field.

For example the OrderListLetter.xsl has the following codes:

department; billing_address; date; issn_isbn; sincerely; addressFrom; Cc; Bcc; note; letterName; order_date; subject; po_line_number; price; quantity; shipping_address; shipping_method; title; vendor_account; place_order_introduction

                                  In Alma/Administration/General Configuration/Configuration Menu/General Configuration/Customize Letters

We want to add a new header cells, for example:
                                  <th>@@publication_place@@</th>

Is there possible to add new codes in “Alma/Administration/General Configuration/Configuration Menu/General Configuration/Letter emails”?

                                  • Embargoed resources displaying in Primo

Currently records from within an embargo period are discover-able to end-users via Primo.
The user then thinks we have access to the records and selects it only to be presented with No full text available.
Embargoed records are outside of our coverage range and should not display in our discovery interface.

                                    • Authenticated "Authentication note" field

Make the content of the "authentication note" field (electronic collection editor and portfolio editor) only visible to our legitimate end-users by means of authentication: preferably via sso, another option would be via ip. That way we can register and manage all our username/password information for e-sources from within Alma. And get rid of the in-house solution (according to the Alma-L mailing list other institutions, like us, developed solutions involving a link to an authentication protected page).
Currently the authentication note has the same functionality as the "public note" field. It is displayed to anyone searching in our Primo. There also…

                                      • Make "updated by" field configurable, not primary ID

There are many areas in Alma that will list the last Alma user to update something. These fields will display the primary identifier of the last updater, but we find this is not particularly helpful when we log in with our campus shib accounts, as this makes our employee ID number show up here. It would be more helpful if we could use Last Name, First Name or something similar in the Updated By fields.

                                        • Create a space for customer-submitted documentation sharing

It would be nice if ExLibris customers could have a space where we could all submit documentation on what we're doing. For example, if one institution has figured out how to configure something, they could either upload files outlining the steps they took to do it or write them out or maybe both. This space should also be searchable, and possibly have ways to limit by things such as which system(s) you use, whether you are a local or hosted customer, etc.

This would be easier than checking the listserv archives and it could be collaborative in nature. It would…
