  1. Add the ability to cancel rejected requests

Requests that are rejected by partner have most of the same options as other requests, but they are missing the option to cancel the request. We would like cancel to appear as an option for rejected requests.

  2. Automatically repopulate bibliographic data when changing standard number

Sometimes when we’re changing an ISBN or OCLC number, we’re changing editions - from ebook to print book, from international edition to local edition, etc. We know Rapido is pulling metadata from somewhere when those numbers change because the cover image of books change. It would be helpful if the system also changed the other standard bibliographic data - edition, place of publication, publisher, and year - based on the new ISBN. This ensures that we’re sending consistent information to our lenders without having to waste time inputting all that data ourselves.

  3. Add search by book chapter title

Rapido allows us to search by article title, but not book chapter title. We would like to be able to search by book chapter title as well.

  4. Make requests in status “expired” act like any other request with the same list of actions

Requests that have ended up with the status and “expired” end up in the “closed” sets, but we still need to work with them. We don’t want the request to be cancelled and the patron to be notified automatically because there still might be something we can do with them. We might find an additional email partner to send one of these requests to that the system doesn’t know about, we might find a better ISBN or OCLC number to send it out on, or we might find that the request is the wrong type and we need to change…

  5. Check mark for offer refinement

In the moltivolume form, after the refine of the offer is finished, a icon or a text message should be displayed that indicates to the user that the process is done (see attached image).

  6. Change the partner library after a request is received or completed

Sometimes the wrong partner library is active in a request and this is not caught before it is updated as received or completed. We would like to be able to correct these requests.

  7. Change a request from digital to physical and vice versa once received

Sometimes a lender supplies an entire book as an ebook instead of a print book or sends the physical book when we requested a chapter and it’s not always caught before we receive it. We would like a way to change a received request from digital to physical and vice versa.

  8. Add option to filter out Global title index results without any offer

    Hi

Copied from Primo Idea Exchange (44 votes so far)
    https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308176-primo/suggestions/46738303-add-option-to-filter-out-global-title-index-result

"When creating a scope that include CDI records non filtered per availability (Rapido-CDI expanded index), Global title index without any offer (no Get it section, no view online section and no item available in the Rapido tile) are retrieved. These records are owned by libraries participating in any POD (outside of ours) of Rapido.

We would like to have an option to exclude the Global title index results without an offer."

    Example in the screenshot.

https://slsp-ube.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/fulldisplay?vid=41SLSP_UBE:UBE&search_scope=DN_and_CI_unfiltered&tab=DN_and_CI_unfiltered&docid=cdi_globaltitleindex_catalog_349550458&lang=en&context=PC (but you'd need a log in to see the Rapido tile).

  9. Don't require a pickup location for digital (article and book chapter scan) requests

If the Resource Sharing Request Type is Digital (article or book chapter), and the request will be delivered digitally, the request form should not require a pickup location. This is confusing to users and meaningless for the workflow.

For many single-campus/single-library institutions, this is not a problem, because a default library can be selected.

For institutions with multiple libraries, where users are not assigned a default library in the patron record, this is an embarrassing and clunky problem.

  10. Rapido to parse all volume formats for multivolume works

Currently, when requesting volumes of multivolume works, the Rapido tile can only parse the following volume formats from the item description:

    "3" (digits only)
    "v.3" (no space)
    "v. 3" (with space)

This affects the Refine Offer function: if the patron inputs a string that Rapido cannot parse (for example, "XII", "Jan", "Bd. 3" as written in the item description), it disregards that volume information. This usually gives a positive result (terms are displayed disregarding the volume's availability), places the request on title level (whole multivolume work) without linking the wanted volume (item) to the Rapido request. In such…

  11. Create Purchase Requests from Rejected Borrowing Requests

When creating a purchase request from a borrowing request that was rejected by the last partner on the rota, staff don't see the pop-up window where they can choose to keep the borrowing request active alongside the purchase request or cancel the borrowing request. Instead, staff are taken directly to the purchase request form with their name added as the requester and the borrowing request remains active. We would prefer to choose whether to cancel the borrowing request or keep the borrowing request active alongside the purchase request. This is particularly important in situations where we have exhausted all avenues…

  12. Automatically populate requester email address if empty for lending digital requests

If the Requester Email field is empty on a digital request, Rapido doesn’t prevent the item from being shipped. We would like Rapido to provide a pop-up message to prevent the item from being shipped if the requester email field is empty. The pop-up message would provide the option for the staff to choose the preferred email address on the partner record or enter a different email address.

  13. Ability to change barcode scanned items in a lending request.

  14. Configuration option for mandatory fields in the Rapido request form

Currently, there is no option for customers to set fields in the Rapido request form as mandatory (mark them with a red asterix, form can only be sent when field is not empty). However, it is not possible for libraries to fulfill requests where certain information is missing (e.g., no page numbers in digitization requests). We would appreciate if customers would become able to set any field in the form as mandatory such as it is already the case in the GetIt request forms in Primo VE.

  16. Enable back-and-forth of requests between Resource Sharing and Purchase Request

Request Description: Often we’ll send requests that are difficult to get via resource sharing to acquisitions by creating a purchase request from Rapido. However, in doing so create a separate request and never find out whether the patron actually got their item. This means that if a patron comes with us with questions, we can’t answer them. (Is acquisitions working on it? Did they cancel it? Who knows!) It also means that if acquisitions can’t purchase the item for some reason, they have no way to send the request back to us so we can try again with those more…

  17. Search by multiple fields at once on Rapido request list

We should be able to search by multiple fields at once on a given Rapido request list -- e.g., by title and by requester on the Borrowing Requests list.

  18. Stacking requests functionality for scanning items

We will occasionally receive multiple digitization requests from the same item from the same school or from different schools. The issue is that Alma only writes one request to the pick from shelf at a time. This would work for physical requests, but for digital scan requests, its not the most efficient workflow.

For example we receive two requests, one for chapter 2 and one for chapter 3 - whether they go to the same or different schools is not relevant.

    The current workflow is:
    a. request writes to pick from shelf
    b. staff retrieves item from the shelf
    c.…

  19. Allow other roles to configure the Resource Sharing Library "Temporary Inactive for borrowing/lending" settings

Currently, only users with the "general systems administrator" role can configure the resource sharing library "temporary inactive for lending" and "temporary inactive for borrowing" settings.

It would be helpful if this privilege could be added to another role so that members of our resource sharing team can manage this without having full system administrator privileges. This would allow them to easily manage these settings to meet the department needs.

  20. Order Discovery Results by Preferred Rapido Pod availability

    Hello,

It would be nice if we could configure Discovery scope and search profile results to prioritize results based on local availability and preferred borrowing pods. Currently, the unfiltered CDI results required for Rapido often bring results to the top that are not held by the home library or any of their resource sharing partners. Sometimes, results held locally or with partners will appear further down the page where the patron is less likely to find it. This is especially aggravating when all the results are for different records of the same book.

Instead of the completely unordered form we…
