Behind the Scenes of the Civil Rights Movements (JSTOR primary source collection)
A new open access primary source collection, Behind the Scenes of the Civil Rights Movements, has launched on the JSTOR platform at https://www.jstor.org/site/reveal-digital/behind-the-scenes-civil-rights-movements/?searchkey=1695218064856
JSTOR is an established provider-partner of Ex Libris, so we hope it will be possible to work with them to load this collection.
Because these are primary sources and thus lack ISBNs, ISSNs, or other identifiers that would work with link resolver linking, this collection should not be loaded as a KB collection with portfolios and MARCs. Instead, this collection should be loaded as a CDI link in record collection.
This collection at launch contains materials focusing on the African American experience during the Civil Rights movement in the United States. When completed, the collection will also contain materials about Latine, Indigenous, and Asian American/Pacific Islanders' experiences during Civil Rights movements. So, adding this collection will expand the diversity of human experiences reflected in CDI collections.

Hello Elizabeth,
The collection BEHIND_THE_SCENES_OF_THE_CIVIL_RIGHTS_MOVEMENTS has 107 portfolios without identifiers.
The links lead to the journal level in JSTOR's platform, and on the Journal page, there is a scanned section with all the pages relevant to a specific book.
This is why it won't be possible to use link in record method for this collection.
Kind regards,

Hi Elizabeth,
Thank you for this comment, I will check if it's possible to change this collection to link in record.

Hi Tamar,
Thanks for loading this! I noticed that instead of being created as a link in record collection as I requested, this is a link resolver collection with portfolios. Because these are primary source documents and lack ISBNs and ISSNs, they don't work very well as a link resolver collection, and they don't fit well into the KBART file format required for link resolver collections, so they have very minimal metadata. It would be better if link in record records could be created, I think, as CDI records have more flexible metadata and are better suited for primary sources. Could Ex Libris please consider turning this into a link in record collection instead of a link resolver collection?
