← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s). 
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  5. Please add Oxford Encyclopedia of EU Law (OEEUL) to 360KB

    We haven't found Oxford Encyclopedia of EU Law on 360KB.

    It is an OUP product, it currently contains 141 items. We haven't found it neither as a database, nor as a book. It is on the Oxford Public International Law (OPIL) platform. Please advise how we can track it.

  7. Add Archives Unbound constituent collections to Alma

    The Archives Unbound database is link in record. There are more than 200 collections within the database and we own only some of them. We have not enabled CDI for Archives Unbound because there would be too many false positives in Primo search results. As it stands, content in Archives Unbound is not discoverable for our users in Primo.
    Can you add the constituent collections as separate databases or as portfolios in the Archives Unbound collection? That way, we would be able to activate them for CDI and our users could discover them in Primo. Note that something similar has…

    It appears we are still missing two collections:

    • Archives of the Work Projects Administration and Predecessors, 1933-1943
    • Food History: Printed and Manuscript Recipe Books, 1669-1990

This is one of the most important peer-reviewed, scholarly journals concerning literature and culture in the Americas, particularly for Spanish-language content.     Please add license information for resources and collections that are known to be open access or open educational resources, making it clear what licence applies. This applies both in CZ records and CDI. We would like to make it clear to our users when a title is made available under a particular licence terms.

  17. Request the improvement of user experience for "lancet"

    Currently, as per the design of 360 Link, the title is changed to "Lancet" and ISSN is removed if the title contains "lancet" and ISSN is 0099-5355 (for North America) or 0140-6736 (for British).

    Because of this design, users need to select an exact title from a large number of suggested journal titles on the 360 Link from PubMed on their own.
    This is because the setting to every related title of "lancet" is set "lancet " as the alternative title.
    This design sometimes helps the user experience, but the negative impact is also huge for the user.
