How can we improve Summon?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.

    360 Core "Automated Holdings Management" currently supports the ProQuest Ebooks providers only.
    This feed greatly reduces the amount of work to maintain ebook holdings by the librarians.
    It would be great if you could add the same feeds for Elsevier, Springer and EBSCO ebooks.

    The initial phases of supporting KBART file exchange are on the 2022 roadmap. Building out this support will enable us to extend auto-holdings management to other providers.

  2. autoholdings for Springer ebooks

    Hi!
    we would like to get auto holdings from Springer when we buy their single ebooks.
    Right now it works from eBook central and T&F and we would like the same service from Springer ebook shop as well.

  3. [360 Core & 360 Link] ISSN / ISBN search enhancement request

    For EJP and 360 Link, ISSN & ISBN search is availavle only when the ISSN & ISBN are included on Title Metadata.
    But there are many title's metadata which have only eISSN / eISBN even if title data of each DB has the pISSN / pISBN.
    *Sometimes Title Metadata doesn't have any ISSN/ISBN.

    On Client Center, we can find titles by searching pISBN even if title metadata doesn't have pISBN.
    I think same specification is better on EJP and 360 Link.

  4. Allow filtering of UnPaywall and Open Access Button results on Link Resolver

    360 Link should allow filtering of the Unpaywall and Open Access button results so that libraries can choose which versions to display. This would allow us to display only peer-reviewed results. Both services return version information in their API. Our library would like to use this open access button feature, but we need to be able to filter the results.

  5. Add ResearchWorks Archive to 360KB

    Hello,

    We are interested in having ResearchWorks Archive added to the knowledge base.

    ResearchWorks Archive is the University of Washington's digital repository (also known as "institutional repository") for disseminating scholarly work.     We are specifically hoping to have the following OA title added to the knowledge base:

  6. Enable DOI search for not CrossRef DOI

    360 Link can search content by DOI published by CrossrRef.
    But DOI published by other institute (e.g. JaLC) is not searchable.
    So please enable DOI Search for not CrossRef DOI.

    Automatically select purchased titles in kb with purchases from vendors such as OASIS/GOBI/EBSCOnet etc. Maintain threshold information as appropriate.

  8. Add Provider: National Film Preservation Foundation

    Hello,

    We would like to add the open access title "Film Preservation Guide: The Basics for Archives, Libraries, and Museums" to the 360KB but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere.

  9. Add Publisher Press Books to 360 KB

    We are hoping to add the open access ebook "Unlocking the Digital Age: The Musician's Guide to Research, Copyright, and Publishing" in the 360KB but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere.

  10. Idea for changing the results of the 360 API's calling to sort of order to the most recent first .

    As the reaction to the release on 3rd Nov 2021 which has been provided on EJP, I'm suggesting of changing the results of the 360 API's calling to sort of order to the most recent

    Because it become more usable if the platform which using this 360 API could display the databases with the most recent coverage first.

    Hello,

    We would like to add the open access title "The Cultural and Economic Trends of Cinema in Ireland and Wales" to the 360KB but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere.

  12. allow kbart uploading for library specific holdings

    For collections not in Intota, if we can get kbart files from the vendor, it would be great to be able to use the kbart file provided as opposed to transfer the information a new format.

    Our patrons do not always know the exact name or spelling of a journal or how to use an asterisk.

    We think the E-Journal Portal search box should support fuzzy keyword searching.

  16. Filter search results in the Ebook and Journal portal (EJP)

    The EJP is a good way to find full text journals by subject area, however, once you have searched or browsed to a subject, there is no way to narrow your search any further except to show only open access titles. It would be helpful to restrict results to recent books or journals with current access, or to peer-reviewed sources, for example.

  17. Please change the contents of "Problem Link Report" email being sent out

    If you don't have the original text in Google Scholar and when clicking find@ and there will be a button to request help from the library. If you use that button to request a copy, an email will be sent to the administrator.

    Could you change the content of "problem link report" email form a little?

    1. Unfortunately, Korean translated version is currently not unavailable.

  18. Filtering titles with status "under review" in client center e-catalog search

    On "e-Catalog" search box in ClientCenter, admin cannot filter titles with "Status Is".

    It will be helpful if we could sort titles on "e-Catalog" search box with the status "Under Review".

    Because some admin would like to register a title as "Under review" title at first and then change it to "Subscribed" at a later time.

    We can see e-Journal usage by title on 360 usage report but for e-Books, we only see Database lebel usage.
    It would be better if we can check e-Books title lebel usage.

  20. Let 360 Link make use of the EBSCO API

    Have 360 Link make use of the EBSCO API, which would allow 360 Link to do a 'pre-check' for article availability and suppress the full text link if the EBSCO API returns an unavailable status. This EBSCO API option is a feature currently available in Alma but not yet available in 360 Link. It would be great if Summon could take advantage of this API too.
