Restrict Tags to specific Material Types
It would be really great if tags could be restricted to specific material types.
We are using tags that are e.g. only applicable for books and e-books but not websites etc. but still show up for those types, too.3 votes -
Enable tags generated by questions to set item status
Currently the "revert_citation_status_by_adding_tags" options have no effect on citations that are tagged as a result of a question. This is because when the instructor answers the question and clicks "Confirm", first the tags are added, and then the citation is actually created.
Our use case is that if the instructor selects a certain answer, we want to apply a tag and based on that tag apply an automatic citation status ReadyForProcessing to ensure it appears in the tasklist for library staff.
A possible solution is to reverse the order of operations when the instructor clicks confirm: first create the citation…

Notification for new courses created in Leganto via Webhook
We would like to get notifications via webhook when a new course is created in Leganto.

Display more course details when pushing to Leganto from Primo
Instructors often teach the same subjects which are rolled over each new semester. This results in a long list of indistinguishable lists in the Push to Leganto feature since it only displays the list name.
Please provide configuration options for displaying course details alongside the list name, including course code, term and year. Institutions should be able to decide which of these course details to display in the Push to Leganto feature.
See attached for an example of how it might look.

Add a refresh option (or auto-refresh) to My Collection when adding an item to a list
Currently if you try to add an item to a reading list using the Add item/My collection option in the right-hand pane, there is no refresh option (unlike in My Collection proper which does have at least a refresh button. If users add items using cite it or push to my Collection from Primo, the list is not updated automatically and so it appears that the My Collection is not correctly updating.
Adding a refresh would ensure the option shows all added resources as soon as they are available.1 vote -
Broken Link improvements
Currently there is no way to directly contact the original person reporting the broken link (student/lecturer) to let them know the link has been fixed and is available. We would expect the reporter to be notified when a fix has happened, without a notification they will have no idea when a broken link is accessible, or if it can’t be fixed.
At Imperial we have one Library team who checks and fixes broken links (Acquisitions) and a different team (liaison librarians) who would contact the original person reporting the broken link (student/lecturer) to let them know the link has been…18 votes -
Automatic status depending on file upload and copyright clearance
We've configured Leganto so when a file is uploaded the copyright status goes to Waiting for Approval, and the citation status shows as In Process. On the other hand when an instructor creates a citation which has a full text link available, the citation will automatically be Complete. This covers the simple cases: a citation with only a link is ready for students to use immediately, and a citation without a link needs the instructor to upload a file which they then need to request copyright clearance for.
But it doesn't support our copyright requirements for more complex cases. Eg…

Lock/hide courses
When instructors associate a course to their list, they can choose between all the courses they are an instructor on, including previous years. With very similar names, if not identical, they often choose the wrong one. This is not always easy to discover. It would help if it was possible to lock all courses previous to a chosen year & semester/date so that they don't appear in the list or at least, so that they cannot be associated.

Managing data on rightsholders
If customers could maintain records of the rightsholders that they interact with (publishers, etc), then they could use the same kinds of Leganto-based processes for managing copyright permissions for those vendors that they do now when interacting with CCC. This would prevent many customers from needing to maintain an external database for copyright clearance activity that doesn't relate to the CCC.

Reading list comments - alerts removed if comments are deleted
We receive notification when a comment has been made to a reading list, in both Alma in the Recent Changes tab and in the Reading List Notification (bell).
However, if the comment is subsequently deleted by the student or instructor no notification is given. We have wasted time searching for comments that do not exist. It would be great to know a comment has been deleted.1 vote -
Complete change log for reading lists
Our Instructors are in need of a feature that allow them to retrieve/view a complete change log for reading lists.
The feature ‘View recent changes’ is somewhat similar, but the feed currently only display changes made by others - not your own. It would be great if this feature were expanded to include all changes made on a list.
Being able to review all changes made to a reading list is not only useful for monitoring a list, it is also an important collaboration tool – primarily with fellow Instructors, but also e.g. when reviewing course material changes with faculty…

Automatic purchase request needs to be triggered automatic with a scheduled job
Currently the Automatic Purchase request process in Alma. Is not Automatic. Staff have to go into a citation and re-save it for the automatic process to be triggered. Or we have to run the Process and Enrich Citations job to trigger the automatic purchase request.
It would be better if this process was ran as a scheduled job like the active courses process. Rather than staff accidently triggering a purchase request by just re-saving a citation that they are working on.
It would be also good that automatic purchase requests do not have to be assigned a staff member to…9 votes -
The ability to ask multiple questions and answers on one citation
We currently have a question setup in Leganto. To ask whether a piece of reading is mandatory or supplementary. We were testing asking a question about Print only items needing to be digitized. However, we found out that you can only ask one question for one citation. It would be good to have the ability to have more than one question for one citation being created.

Clearer display of link source
We had a citation with two links, both broken. One showed the name of the collection it was in so easy to fix. The other one just showed "online.wiley.com" and I spent at least an hour trying to figure out what collection that was only to discover by accident that actually it was referring to the "Source URL" in the citation's own record.
The display of links in Leganto should clearly tell administrators where the URLs are coming from to facilitate troubleshooting.
Broken link alerts in the Alma tasklist should likewise clearly name (or ideally link to!) the collection or…

Duplicating lists - make it clearer that the duplicated list is the copy
When you duplicate a reading list, '(1)' is added to the end of the title. This is easy to overlook, and academic staff often make multiple copies because they are not sure it has worked.
We would like the duplicated list to say "Copy of" at the beginning of the title instead. This would replicate the behaviour when a section is copied and would more clearly differentiate the two lists.

Preferred language set for both Alma and Leganto
Leganto is a patron-facing system and is translated to several different languages. Alma is a back-office system for librarians and are not translated as such.
In Leganto you can select the interface language. This changes the preferred language setting on the user-profile in Alma as well. We can see the change in the history-tab on the user-profile.
The issue is that if the language is set to a language other than english, parts of Alma displays translated values (I assume values that are used in patron facing elements) while other parts are not translated. E.g. a mix of Norwegian and…

Analytics improvement regarding Leganto and Esploro
Set up an Esploro-Leganto integration in Analytics, that makes it possible to get statistics on how many assets from Esploro are cited in reading list (like you can create an list with Leganto citations there also are represented in Alma). E.g. how many citations in a specific reading list are from Esploro?

Allow students to access 'Course students' restricted lists via 'My Lists'
If you use the "Course Students" publication status for a reading list, students must always use an LTI link from a VLE to view the list. This means students can't access all their lists from one place ("My Lists") which isn't good for the student experience.
We would like there to be a way for students to only have to access the list via LTI once (if at all), after which they can access it from "My Lists".

Ability to email instructor(s) directly from Reading List
In a patron’s account, you can email the patron directly from the General Information tab. We would like to see similar functionality in the ability to generate an email to an instructor directly from their Reading List.
When working on a Reading List in Alma, the option to generate an email could be a live link in the Reading List Owner’s name in the Reading List Information box, or in the course information box above the Reading List, or in the Owners tab, or all of the above.
