  1. Show accurate total of books in stock

The Alma side of Leganto uses the number of copies of a book in total but unlike Primo, does not ignore books marked as 'lost' or 'missing'. Would it be possible for Leganto to show the current total of books in stock (either available or on loan) without any missing/lost ones?

  2. Configure which links can be embedded in citation

In Leganto there is now functionality to directly embed citations. This can be enabled so that links can be embedded in the citation screen and the site shows in Leganto without the student having to view it in another tab.

This works well when the URL can be directly resolved. However, if a link must go through a proxy authentication mechanism before it can resolve then a large blank space shows in the Leganto citation instead of the site or proxy login screen.

We propose the ability to configure Leganto so that you can choose to only allows links that…

  3. Embedded File Type mapping table should not be case sensitive

Currently the 'Embedded File Type mapping table' is case sensitive and will not recognise file types that are in a different case to the one entered in the table, even if the file type is technically allowed. There is also no error message to identify the issue so it just seems as though the file type is not an accepted one. We propose that the mapping table not be case sensitive and will accept all formats of allowed file types, e.g. both .png and .PNG.

  4. Display Instructor's name along with list title and code in search.

This is a very simply display improvement. Students looking for lists from searchlists often want to find their list by instructor name. Sometimes they will browse by department, or try to find their course amongst other sections and there is no indication of who the list instructor is from the brief list record. Even if they search by that name, they may misspell it and still have to and have to click through to open the course to be assured they have the right list. Adding it with the code at the bottom of the display would be a useful…

  5. Display series information in citation details

It would be useful if book series information (from the title record 440 and/or 490 fields) could be surfaced in citation metadata details. This is important information which should be displayed for the benefit of our users.

  6. Allow to embed the reading list page main content area to another webpage

We wish to have a way to embed the reading list page main content area (as attached) to another webpage. Because our library has a webpage for recommended books, and wants to show the reading list embedded in that webpage.

    Thank you

  7. Export to Excel - Remove "Citation" from each column

We want to suggest a slight modification of the export to Excel.

As you can see on the attached screenshot, the title for each column is preceded by Referanse/Citation.
    Ex:
Citation Volume | Citation Issue | Citation pages | Citation start page and so on.

The document would be easier to read, and thus more user friendly without the extra "citation" text.

  8. Improve xml for GeneralAssignToLetter

We use GeneralAssignToLetter to assign Reading List to library staff and Leganto Collaborator staff. Although <assigned_object_name> is present in the xml, but "course code" data is missing, hence we are unable to output that to the letter - we can added onto the xslt letter. We believe course code is essential data element on a Reading List DataSheet.

  9. Have a separate citation material type list for manually created citation

The full list contains 55 citation material types. If we disable some of them, then material type may show strange code like "READINGLISTCITATIONSECONDARYTYPES.REFERENCE_ENTRY" (assuming we have disabled the Reference Entry code).

But if we enable all of them, the list is too long for the Faculty to select when they create their own citation. Also Faculty do not have necessary knowledge to classify for each type. We expect it just a list of less than 10 items, say "Printed Books", "Printed Journal", "E-resources", etc.

In fact the citation type can be a very useful information in our workflow such that…

  10. Sorting option available for students

Today it is only possible for owners / collaborators to choose how a reading list should be sorted in Leganto (alphabetically by title or author, or "unsorted"), but not for the one who sees the list after publication (= usually students).
They might prefer another sorting than the one imposed by the list owner, making it easier to find a specific citation.

  11. Add a new parent field to group academic/processing departments

Please find attached high level design about the ability to create academic units which may group several academic and/or processing departments.
Please review the document and let us know if you have any remark. We would like to get your feedback if processing department is relevant here.

    Many thanks,

  12. Creating section for citation without delete and recreate via API

Currently, it is not possible to create sectioninfo information if citation is already exists. It must be delete the original citation and create new citation with updated sectioninfo.

It is better to allow update of section_info directly without delete and recreate the same citation.

  13. Citation – Bibliographic record overlay enhancement request

    Request:
As a Library Staff member, I would like functionality that allows me to enhance the bibliographic information in Leganto citations by identifying, retrieving, and overlaying institutional bibliographic records. I would want this functionality to be added to the Leganto interface to allow me to process a list entirely within this environment.

We are aware of the “process and enrich citations job”. However, this job can be disruptive to citations where we are not supplying access via institutional holdings. We also want the ability to resolve bibliographic issues with citation on a case-by-case basis.

    Situation:
    When a citation has been…

  14. Manage Digital Representations

When looking at a citation, we would like to be able to see if "Manage Digital Representations" has been ticked by looking at the citation information without having to click through to "Manage Digital Representations" to check. Could a filter be added to filter what hasn't been checked on a reading list or some indication on the citation information section?

  15. Sort citations in Alma by date of alert generated

Citations in Alma can currently be sorted by date created, date modified, citation title and reading list name.

It would be useful if we could sort them by the date an alert has been generated (e.g. date when a user has marked a broken link). We could then prioritise the alerts more effectively as they are actioned.

  16. Avoid session timeout for guests users

For the public find list page, in Guest mode, after timeout, it will redirect to the Leganto local login screen which is strange and user does not know what this is. We have raised SF 00647401 and ExLibris agreed to fix in Alma July release that it will redirect to the SAML login screen which looks more familiar to our user.

But actually ultimately what we want is NO session timeout for guest users. As no login in the first place, there is no need of "session timeout".

    Thank you

  17. Move citations in bulk from a list to My Collection rather than only one by one

Moving citations one by one through the options menu is painful. Users should be able to move all citations in a list, or selected subsets of citations in a list to My Collection. The ability to select and copy all or select some and copy is a very common usability feature for list management.

This would really make My collection the easiest way to search and find previously used materials across course lists.

  18. Leganto Instructor Rollover - Relocate "Roll Over List" to appear next to "SEND LIST" button

As Library staff, I would like the Roll Over List button to be placed at a more obvious spot in Leganto, so instructors can easily find the button and Rollover their Lists with fewer clicks.

UNSW Library will enable the Leganto Course Instructor Rollover in November 2018. We want instructors to use this feature, and not be confused with the Duplicate List option.

    Current Behavior:
    1. Instructor opens a Reading List in Leganto
    2. clicks on Reading list options menu option
    3. selects "Roll Over List", which is beneath "Duplicate List"
    Concerns:
    a. They need to know where the button…

  19. Remove citations' redundant punctuations

We noticed that there are redundant punctuations displayed in the citations added from Alma, could these redundant punctuations not show when adding the citations into the reading list?

I do know that Leganto uses "," to separate different fields like author, edition and publisher. It would be clearer and easier for students to read the details of the citations without these redundant punctuations.

We notice that what appears in the MARC record would be directly copied to the citation, please could an enhancement be made to check if the existing field has punctuation at the end and remove it from…

  20. Option to change the default tab on the Reading Lists Tasks List page in Alma

We'd like either a global option to set the default tab to All or an option for each user to select their own preference. This would improve the workflow for staff because they often collaborate on Reading Lists and searching from the All tab is preferable to searching from the other tabs.
