Display Logic by Location
At this time you can only hide Resource Sharing Requests by Availability, Ownership, or User Groups with Display Logic. But there are times when we need to hide the Resource Sharing Requests for a location when the item is still Available.
Hi,
There are two options you may consider.
1. The display logic rules hide resource sharing requests when there are available copies. However, if the location of the available items has a ‘unavailable’ type then Alma will consider the items unavailable for this rule, even though they are on shelf.
The location ‘type’ is an attribute of the physical location.
2. As mentioned in my comment, you can define general electronic requests that can help hide the resource sharing link depending on item locations. For example, assume you have a ‘Laptops’ location, and you do not want a resource sharing link to show up when searching items of this location. You can:
1. Define a dummy General Electronic Service that will show when the location is ‘laptops’.
2. Define a Display Logic Rule that hides the resource sharing link when the above mentioned service exists (i.e. when the location is ‘laptops’)
3. Define another Display Logic Rule that hides the dummy General Electronic Service,

We would like items in our non-requestable collections, specifically course reserves, to have a resource sharing request option, since copies are available from other colleges and our copies are not requestable. So we want to have an exception to the display logic rule to hide resource sharing requests when available, displaying the resource sharing request option when the available items are not requestable.

As part of the March release, library and location parameters are available to be added to the availability rules for item and title level general electronic services (see https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/010_2019/Alma_2019_Release_Notes?mon=201903BASE#General_Electronic_Service_Availability_Rules-69609. )
The flexible mechanism that allows setting General Electronic Services (GES) per genre (and now also per location) is widely used today to also hide or display non GES services (mostly resource sharing) based on the same parameters. For example, see https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Knowledge_Articles/How_to_hide_the_Resource_Sharing_Request_general_electronic_service_and_display_an_alternative_GES_for_articles
This, together with the new March release feature, can be used to hide the resource sharing request option by location.
Thanks,

On the flip side of this, It would also be nice to be able to display the resource sharing request link by location - so we may have a rule that hides the resource sharing link if any items are available, but there are non-lending locations (e.g., Special Collections) that we would still like to show resource sharing links for, even though the items are on the shelf. These items in our local collections don't circulate so users should have the option to request from other libraries.

We would also like the capability to limit Purchase Request by physical location.
