  1. Improving Ability to Create Repeating Courses for Multiple Semesters

    Currently there is no ability to have two courses in different semesters with the same course code and section number in Reserves. Our college reuses course codes and section numbers between semesters, so we are unable to build new courses with the same course code/section number combination before the current semester ends.

    I would like to add additional identifying fields to the current code/section unique identifier. Possibilities include unique terms (Fall 2022) or a term/year combination (Fall + 22-23).

  2. Batch url checking for Portfolios in Electronic Collections

    Can Alma test all of the links in all the Portfolios in an Electronic Collection, in batch, and report back a count of successes and fails?
    AND (very importantly) give me list of the fails, so I can check/fix them?

  3. Add Close Caption file information to Alma Analytics

    We need to report on the status of our digital collection, including which videos are close captioned. This data is not available in Alma Analytics. How hard would it be to add this to the "Digital Inventory" table?

  4. Alma Digital Support for an auto-captioning service

    Many video streaming services now have an auto-captioning service, .i.e., Youtube, where captions are auto-generated for video content. Since we are legislated to caption our video content, Alma Digital could include this feature and save us months of work.

  5. Add process type (work order) and update call number to Repository Import profile

    I know there are two jobs available - create physical items work order and update call number from bibliographic - that can be done with item sets.

    But why not make it easier so we can do these two things with the Repository import profile?

    It would be a huge timesaver if the physical mapping has these options:

    1. Assign Process type (work orders)

    2. Update holdings call number without creating new holdings record/item records when using the repository import profile.

  6. Improvement for label handling in letters

    Improved handling of labels in letters

    Add all labels in the selected language of the letter to the XML file (same structure as code-tables API). So in the XSLT stylesheet it can be referenced with XPATH and not with @@substituion.

    In this way, the power of XPATH and XSLT can also be used for labels.

    Example: QueryToPatronLetter (we only ever use line1): now each Patron Query Type must have a block with the same content. With labels in the data XML, it can be a block where the correct type is selected with XSLT and XPATH.

  9. Customizable fields for Electronic Collections

    We would like to be able to introduce custom, local fields into our Electronic Collections to help us manage workflows, reporting, and inventory management. Currently, we store a lot of information in our Internal Descriptions to help with this work. It would be great to have dedicated, customizable fields that can be defined for local uses. Ideally, the management of these fields would look like the license term management, with options for free text, controlled vocabularies, and yes/no fields.   10. Saving Queries on the Community Zone

    Please, let us save queries on the Community Zone as a logical set.

    It is well understood that no one but Ex Libris is supposed to be able to run jobs on the CZ data and most likely that is why you currently cannot save a query on the Community Zone as a set. However, saving queries can often serve as just a shortcut for submitting a (more complex) query again and again, and for electronic resource librarians it is interesting to check the CZ regularly for newly added collections which are freely available, e.g., or adhere to any other…

  11. sorting of printouts queue should remain when logging off

    when the Printouts Queue opens, the three filters are always defined like this „Printout: All“ „Printed by: Me“ „Status: Pending“.We can of course make changes in the moment, but when we log out the next time we go to the Printouts Queue, the filters (All, Me, Pending) are back again.
    The Staff-Users have different needs here and have to change the filters every single time they log in. Is there a possibility to make these changes stay?
    The best option would be if the filters could be defined by the Staff-User themselves.

  12. Ability to hide/compress inventory list in POL

    For POLs that have extensive lists of electronic inventory (i.e., many electronic collections are associated with one POL), have capability to hide or compress that inventory list in the POL, and then show/expand as needed. Otherwise, we need to scroll down past a long list to get to other sections of the POL for both View and Edit. Example is our POL for JOVE, which is linked to 54 collections. CDL has similar examples for consortial content managed in the UC NZ.

  13. Add Description field to Physical Item Lending Policies in Resource Sharing Directory

    We have several different resource sharing lending policies within our country, which depend on the particular reciprocal borrowing agreement we have with our partner libraries. It would be nice to automate this somehow in the future, but, for now, could we have a Description field on the Physical Item Lending Policies form?

  15. Display all subject headings in results lists

    It would be helpful to see all subject headings displayed in the search results page and to see all bibliographic headings after exporting a results list to Excel.

    Currently after a search, the results list only shows three subject headings per bibliographic record. If there are more subject headings listed in the bibliographic record, it is only indicated with the phrase “and others”.

    Exporting the results list to Excel also shows only three subject headings with the information “and others” if more subject headings are mentioned in the bibliographic record.

  16. Add task list- item request be rejected or be cancelled and become to "transit"

    found that when the request(any request) is rejected in any way (by patron or librarian) the item's next step is "Transit", but there do not have task or list to let the librarian know.

    it will cause these items stuck in "Transit" until someday we need them.

    If we can add the task list to let the librarian know which item we should handle it should be better.

  17. Ability to change an institutions public key for S/FTP setup

    Our institution is requiring us to change the public key we use in Alma every 90 days in the S/FTP integration connections we have set up, to adhere with our Universities tightening of cyber security measures. We would like the ability to change our institutions public key 4 times a year. Currently institutions are only assigned a static key that can not be changed.

  18. PO line description should represent current bibliographical data

    Alma provides insufficient data in PO lines for the task of pulling a list of subscriptions a library has of a specific publisher's titles:

    1. The PO line description contains only bibliographical data from the bib record as it was at the time the PO line was created. Subsequent changes in the publisher data are not updated in the related PO lines.

    2. Even in newly created PO lines, Alma introduces the content of MARC field 264 _1 instead of 264 31 if such a field exists, i.e. it copies the first, not the current publisher’s name into the PO line description.

  19. configuration exeptions in opening hours

    I wanted to update the opening hours in the psb for the next year. Some Holidays like the first of january, the first of may or the third of october, the library is closed every year.
    I realized, that I can’t add a „recurrence“ for these days with the record type „exception“. If I add a new record and choose the record type „event“ I can add a „recurrence“ but the status will be „open“. I can’t change the status to „closed“
    It would be nice if the record of these Holidays could have the „recurrence“ „yearly“ and the „status“…

  20. Titles ending in question mark issue with EDI invoices

    There is a known Alma issue with EDI files for titles that have ending question marks, i.e. "What's So Controversial About Genetically Modified Food?" The invoice line loads with quantity of zero for such titles. This prevents the POL from moving to "closed". It would be great if this can be resolved, but I understand that the "he core of this functionality relies upon another system (Aleph) and currently Exlibris does not have a schedule fix for that. But putting it on the idea exchange to make sure we remember this is an issue.
