  1. expected receipt date

    Is it possible to display the expected date of receipt for each copy as an additional category in the list of copies?
    In this way, when booking the receipt of issues, one can immediately see whether, for example, the forecast pattern still fits or whether a journal has changed its publication date, for example. I think it's helpful. Thank you, Monika Lange, UB Paderborn

  2. NCIP request security

    Currently a valid NCIP request from anywhere can retrieve information about a given library's patrons. In order to exploit this, the attacker would need to know server address, institution code, code of the profile for ILL, all of the correct metadata, and the correct message type/formatting. It's not trivial to gather up all that information for a given institution, but much of the information is publicly available (e.g. NCIP message formatting is a public standard), and none of it is generally treated as a secret.

  3. Add Statistics note 1-3 to portfolio Note tab

    The portfolio currently doesn't have enough note fields, especially for Statistics and one has to be very creative, combining reports, in order to retrieve something of value to report on.

    We make extensive use of our Statistics note 1-3 fields in the Statistics Notes section of the item record's Notes tab and use Analytics to harvest the data entered in each of these note fields for various reports required for operational and management purposes.   4. Ensure that CZ & CDI Metadata is Linked Data Ready

    I was advised by the Linked Data Group to post this idea here because I submitted the following for the LOD Working Group webinar in December:

    Broader strategic and commercial alliances required to ensure that data is ready to be linked?

    To engender confidence in CZ and make it linked-data ready, why don’t the Company do business with e.g. Backstage Library Works for authority control clean-up and maintenance?

    Metadata is a global commodity so all stakeholders have responsibility for creating, sharing, enriching and maintaining it, and of course there are costs for all of these elements which we could share.

  5. Alternative work order behavior - Usage should be departmental, not individual

    We would like an alternative to how work orders work now. We want the department (or “agent”) to initiate the request, rather than an individual using their own personal account. So that usage is calculated as “departmental” or work order, rather than the individual.

  6. Allow PO-Line type to be edited

    When we migrated, a lot of our print serials were migrated with the POL type "Electronic Journal - Subscription" and a dummy order was created for the print journal subscription. We still can't figure out why/how this happened. But if there was a way to change the POL type after the creation of the POL, that would probably go a long way to resolving this issue.   7. Collection Discovery manual title ordering

    In collections and sub-collections, please allow adjusting the order of titles manually (and individually - like we change the order of collections by drag-and-drop).

    While the ability to change the default sort method is useful, our collections require more granular control over the order in which titles display.

    A drag-and-drop system would be ideal. Slightly less useful would be the ability to track and sort by the date that each title was added to a collection.

  8. Improve editing of large fields in the Metadata Editor

    When creating and/or editing a MARC field with a large volume of text, such as the 505 or 520 field, occasionally the cursor will appear to be in a different position than it is, so that the user may accidentally delete the wrong characters, or insert them in the wrong place. This appears to happen at random, and saving the record, restarting Alma, and even clearing the browser cache does not consistently fix the problem, even in the short term.

  9. Tasks Widget: Show 'Assigned to me' consistently in ALL Task Lists

    In the Tasks on the homepage, 'Purchase Requests' ALWAYS show any tasks 'assigned to me' when I expand the curtain.

    'Reading Lists' NEVER shows any tasks 'assigned to me' when I expand the curtain. There are often Reading Lists assigned to me, so it would be helpful to just be able to see that like with Purchase Requests, rather than having to look in on all reading lists every day.

    Same with Borrowing Requests, and Lending Requests. 'Assigned to me' does not show, whereas Electronic Resources assigned to me do appear.

  11. Add usage statistics -field for other statistics than Counter

    A need for a new Usage Statistics -field that could be used for usage statistics other than Counter. Smaller e-journal etc. publishers don't have Sushi statistics but libraries collect usage data another way. The new usage statistics field should be for every year. The Usage Statistics -field should work on the Analytics. Statistics notes -field is also required.

  12. Customize the Register/Update User (Quick User Management) screen/window

    Watching a Primo demo complete with a discussion on how the view was customized, made me wonder if certain areas in Fulfillment could be customized. Is it possible to customized/configure the Register/Update User (Quick User Management) screen/window depending upon the role of the user? For instance a Circulation Assistant or Student Assistant would see only a limited number of fields (of course all the mandatory ones) whereas an Admin would see all the fields?

  13. Display loan limit for patrons at Manage Patron Services Screen in Alma

    At present, there is no indication at the Manage Patron Services screen (when you go to a patron's account) of the loan limit for the patron (i.e. allowed to borrow 8 loans; of which 2 loans may be from the SL collection, etc.). This information is only available at Configuration - Fulfillment - Loan Limits.

  14. Ability to customise email subject heading in Alma letters using letter data

    As library staff we would like the ability to customise the email subject heading of Alma letters using letter data so that we can flag something up to a customer/use in their email inbox.

    For example, we've recently customised our On Hold Shelf Letter using XSL to have different content when a customer is picking up a Resource Sharing request as we ask customers to collect these from our Customer Services desk whereas other requests are placed on a self service hold shelf in the library.

  15. Add block action for patron digitization requests in User Block Definitions

    The configurable blocked actions for user blocks in Alma are:
    01 – loan
    02 – loan, renew
    03 – loan, renew, hold

    It is therefore possible to configure that blocked users are not allowed to place requests at all.

    We propose a distinction between the different request types in blocked actions.

  17. Enhanced “In Transit” flow/functionality

    We encounter a lack of important functionality to efficiently follow-up on In transit requests (physical item requests to another pick-up location). We would like the functionality to be extended with the following additional features:
    1. A patron facing letter when the requested item is placed “in transit” by the owning library, so that the patron is better informed of the status of his request.

  19. E-Resource Activation Task List trigger

    When closing a subscription PO line, associated e-resources are automatically added to the E-Resource Activation Task List to determine whether they need to be deactivated. It would be more useful if this were based on the "subscription to" date in the PO line, rather than happening when the PO line is closed. We often close a subscription order several months before the subscription officially ends, and we don't want to deactivate the portfolio until that end date.     Allow Discovery Interface Display Logic rules to hide service Rapido Physical Offer based on user's assigned resource sharing library.

    In our instance, we have one default/generic RS library and several location-based RS libraries. Users are put in the generic RS library by default, then reassigned to a specific RS library depending on where they are enrolled. For example, a patron in Chicago would have the Chicago RS library assigned, while an online patron would still have the generic RS library assigned.
