← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s). 
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

    Consider to add the Perlego collection to the CZ of Alma.

    The vendor provides an online library of academic resources with over 400,000 titles in several topics.

    Many international publishers are participate in the collection which can be very useful for academic institutions especially for textbooks.

    PROFESSIONEEL_BEGELEIDEN (dbid: PTRWL) was been created in the Knowledgebases.

    This change will be part of the 4th March Content Update ( 20241200 ) that will be released on March 24th.

    These collections are maintained via automation and updated accordingly.
    The “modification date” is a good indication of the last time the title list was updated in our system.

  4. Add a new Community Zone Collection for ATLA Plus

    Hi,
    EBSCO has released a new collection ATLA Plus, that combines Catholic Periodicals Index with their more common ATLASerials. As it is techincally a new product, none of our old ATLASerials links work in Primo/uResolver anymore at either the article or journal level.

    CiNii Books is a free bibliographic database for all genre book contents. It is widely used in Japanese institutions.

    I hope that this database will be added to Summon Index. Merging this to Library Catalog will make library resources more accessible and discoverable.

    Tipasa is the new cloud-based ILL system and some of our users are considering migrating from Illiad to Tipasa.
