← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).


How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s). 
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.


The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  2. Please add Oxford Encyclopedia of EU Law (OEEUL) to 360KB

    We haven't found Oxford Encyclopedia of EU Law on 360KB.

    It is an OUP product, it currently contains 141 items. We haven't found it neither as a database, nor as a book. It is on the Oxford Public International Law (OPIL) platform. Please advise how we can track it.

  3. Improve the metadata of Scholarvox Université (Cyberlibris) collections

    The quality of the metadata for the Scholarvox in the CZ is often extremely poor (only title, print ISBN and language is specified as English but the ebooks are in French).

    In other electronic collections , we find records with only electronic ISBN. So it is confusing.

    We noticed that the articles in the open access journal 'Il diritto degli affari', ISSN 2281-4531, included in DOAJ, are not indexed in the CDI. Is it possible to have this content searchable?

    We have activated the database Eurostat (FMK), but we can not find any records in Summon from the database. Please check this.

  7. Post additional standard organizations on ASTM platform

    ASTM has several standard organizations that we (as customers) can subscribe to. Each of these should have their own community zone collection with CDI.
    International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), UNE-EN ISO

    There may need to be more than one ISO collection as I'm not sure if all standards are available everywhere regardless of subscription location.

    The collection "Research Methods: Diversifying and Decolonizing Research" will be available in Alma by the end of May 2024.


    Regarding the other collections you mentioned, we will reach out to Sage and ask for the metadata for those collections.

    We have purchased the Docuseek Complete Collection 4th Edition Upgrade from Docuseek. Docuseek has many other Alma collections, including the original collection, the 2nd edition, and the 3rd edition upgrade. Could Ex Libris please work with Docuseek to load this new collection, the Docuseek Complete Collection 4th Edition Upgrade, into the Alma CZ and other KBs? The end result should be a collection with robust MARC records and portfolios we can activate.   18. Sustainable Development Goals Online from Taylor and Francis CDI collection

    Please could SDGO be added as a collection in the CDI? This is a collection of mainly articles and book chapters, and so the contents cannot be activated through portfolios in the Alma CZ.

    Hello,

    We have received the mapping for the discovery metadata for the general SDGO collection, and it will be added by November 2023.

    Please be advised that currently there is no way for us to map the SDGO sub-collections, because the chapters and articles CDI metadata does not contain any tags to match them to the sub-collections.

  19. Please add Emerald Management Core collection

    In 2024, Emerald will no longer offer Management 120 collection. So we have to switch to this Management Core collection with 172 journal titles.

    Hello,

    We received multiple title lists from Emerald for various collections they are now offering, the Emerald Management Core included for all backfiles, 5 years access and 30 years access.

    We have scheduled adding them by end of April 2024.
