Allow public notes to be copied when copying citations
Currently it is not possible to copy Public Notes when copying a citation using either the citation copy option from the item menu, OR when using the Bag it feature and copy option there.
It is possible, however, to copy Public Notes when rolling lists over in the Course Loader/Instructor Rollover.
It would be useful if it was possible to copy Public Notes for citations when copying citation in general - this could perhaps be a prompted option or a configurable one depending on whether the single or bulk selection of citation contains Public Notes.
No doubt the same could…3 votesAvailable in August release.

Associate new reading list from inside course with that course
When a reading list is created from inside a course, it would help the instructor if the list would then automatically be associated with that course. Or at least be very easy to associate it with the course that the instructor is currently in.
At this moment, the instructor is inside a course in Leganto. Adds a new reading list. Has to associate that reading list to a course all over again, while the instructor is already there.
This is confusing for instructors.3 votesThis is resolved in the 2023 Leganto new user experience. When instructors begin in the LMS and create a new or additional list in Leganto, the list will be automatically associated with the course.

Auto-populate start/end pages in copyright clearance form
When a lecturer submits a copyright clearance form it's pre-populated with the course availability dates, but the start/end pages aren't pre-populated even when they're already in the citation (see attached screenshot for an example). Automatically populating this information would save lecturer time, and decrease the likelihood of them neglecting to enter it so would also save library staff time.

Make online links available while file is waiting for copyright approval
If a citation (added either via the Primo search in Leganto, or via CiteIt) has an online link, then this is displayed for students (even if the item is still BeingPrepared instead of Complete).
But if the instructor then also uploads a file to the item and copyright approval is needed then
a) the file is unavailable to students until it's approved - this is good! and
b) the online link is now also unavailable to students until the file is approvedWe'd like the online link to remain available regardless of whether or not a file is waiting for…

Pulsating/blurring effect in search results is causing visual fatigue
One of our users says that the pulsating search results that cause the text to become blurry is giving them visual fatigue. See the attached video for an example of what I mean.
The pulsating and blurring is meant to draw attention to the component in response to the user hovering over the search result with their mouse. (Keyboard navigation doesn't seem to trigger this effect, as far I can tell.)
Since this visual effect is not essential to the functionality or the information being conveyed, we ask that you please remove this, or allow users to choose to disable…

Share "My collection" with other as an extra feature
To share "My collection" would be a good thing for instructors/librarians who work in the same field of education. It's in some way like sharing your EndNote library.
"My collection" will contain citations that are not necessarily published in a course list, but still could be of use for others. This regards citations shared from one researcher to another but not necessarily in a reading list and/or citations processed by the library.2 votes2023 New UI provides the option to add items from favorites to a reading list in bulk. Instructors can create a list from favorites and publish or share with specific collaborators.

Make permalinks more available
At the moment if a member of staff, or a student, wishes to get a permalink to list they need to be logged in. I propose that permalinks are made accessible from the "three dot" menu even when people are not logged in. This will make finding lists and sharing information about them much easier.

Option to hide 'Send List' button
We do not make use of the 'Send List' button in our workflows (we process all lists at the point of creation, rather than waiting for them to be sent to the Library by the lecturer). Could we therefore have the option to hide the 'Send List' button?

Request for review date
We haev been examing workflows for checking lists and would like to suggest that once a list has been reviewed that the "request for review" date can be cleared / reset. This would make it easier to oversee the lists that need to be reviewed and would enhance the use of the status functions.
2 votesLeganto now includes fields for Initial request for review and current request for review dates. Additionally, the option to reset the request for review dates in bulk was included in the February 2023 release

Allow the wording of the module status options on the public home page to be changed
On our public reading lists home page, https://readinglists.rgu.ac.uk/leganto/public/44RGU_INST/searchlists?auth=LDAP, there is a drop down menu for "Module Status" which has the options Active, Inactive and All.
This terminology means very little to the students using the site and we would like to be able to change the wording to something of our choosing e.g Active could be Current Year and so on.
The behind the scenes options would not be altered this is a proposed change for the public user interface only which would allow universities to pick their own terminology.

Allow the public user interface drop down menus options to be removed
The public user interface for Leganto (for example https://readinglists.rgu.ac.uk/leganto/public/44RGU_INST/searchlists?auth=LDAP) has a several drop down menus on the home page: module status, faculty and subject.
We would like an option that would allow us to remove some of these from the public user interface if they are not in use. For example we do not use the subject option currently but the drop down menu is there and always returns no results when used.

Allow new (custom) type when creating a citation
I understand that this may be a complex undertaking since a new citation type will impact interoperability with Alma (and Primo). However, is there possibly a way to provide the function to create basic custom types that are mapped to a min. number of fields (title, author / creator, date source, file; or DC fields). For example, our staff wanted to create type 'tutorial' which does not exist (they are using the 'website' as a workaround).

'No List Expected' to show in Leganto
Really like the 'No list expected' feature in ALMA, but it would be even better if it reflected in Leganto as well for the user.
So if this is checked in ALMA, in Leganto it would state something like 'There is no Reading List for the course by design' to differentiate from ones where the List is still in 'Draft' or hasn't been created / has been un-associated or deleted (possibly by accident).

Declaration text header for Add Item Manually/Upload file workflow
Add a declaration text header option for when users click on "Add Item Manually/Upload File" analogous to the digitizationrequestheader. The idea is that we could communicate to faculty our expectations about fair use when uploading items. If this header option existed, we would add something like:
"The Libraries supports courses by scanning and electronically delivering course related materials for use as course readings or for other instructional uses. NOTE: Usage must meet Fair Use Guidelines (Title 17, US Code) unless copyright permission has been obtained. Utilize the Fair Use Analysis Tool (https://www.lib.umn.edu/copyright/fairthoughts) to help make your…1 vote -
Allow 'learning technologist' role to see all lists/course information associated with a specific Academic Department
As we work with Academic Departments, we increasingly find that a departmental colleague has a key role as a "learning technologist" or admin in the VLE (CMS) Blackboard Moodle, Canvas etc etc. In order to help them manage and support reading list creation across an entire department it would really help if it was possibly to associate a User in Alma with an Academic department so they could see all the lists associated with that department, whether draft or published.
NB because of the numbers, this idea would return us to the issue of librarians seeing too much in My…

Citation Copyright Attributes Can Also Calculate With Roman Numerals
It would be of great help if Alma could take into account and calculate when Roman Numerals are used in the Required Pages fields of a Copyright Attribute. At the moment Alma cannot calculate pages copied if Required Pages are in Roman Numerals and this is a very frequent occurrence.
Notice in the attached the Total Required Pages is greyed out and not calculated.1 voteAvailable in November release

Option to export a list sorted alphabetically (without sections and with unique citations)
With March Release it is now possible to sort citations within sections alphabetically before exporting the list to Word.
We would like an additional option: to export the reading list as if it was a reference list:
- sorted by author name according to the chosen reference style
- without section
- with unique references only (if a the same citation is used in two sections it just appear only once)Key fields to define if a citation is unique or not should be title and ISBN but also author and publication year in case there is no ISBN in…

Define specific subject within the URL
We would like to build a page providing a list of Leganto reading lists for public access. The lists could include specific subject.
Currently, its not possible to define specific subject within the URL of find lists.
Suggested to create the public access link which only retrieve specific subject.

When there are a lot of template to choose from, they should be automatically sorted alphabetically and /or the library should be able to sort and arrange them manually.

Leganto Reading List Filters
In Leganto, under My Lists, I see that there are a couple of filters to filter out the reading lists that we'd like to see (see file: LegantoFilters(CourseCodeAndCourseName)), I noticed only these variables are being pulled from Alma's Course Information, Course Code and Course Name. But what about when the librarian/faculty would like to see only reading lists from a certain Term or a certain Course Start Date & Course End Date? There should be a way to do this in Leganto without having to delete or disassociate courses from the reading lists?
1 voteThe Find Lists page can be customized to include filters for course year and term.
