  1. Rejected Purchase Request - not detaching brief BIB in Alma Course Reserves

If we place a Purchase Request through Alma Course Reserves - the system generates a brief BIB with MMS ID against the citation. But if the Purchase Request is Rejected, the brief BIB is deleted from Alma (proper) but not from Alma Course Reserves and the citation remains resource located against the brief BIB that will not be fulfilled.

Currently, we are manually detaching these citations but do think that if the brief BIB is deleting in Alma proper it should be reflecting in Alma Course Reserve.

Can the brief BIB be removed from the citation in Alma Course Reserves…

  2. Support http protocol in reading list and section description fields

At the moment URLs in the description fields of reading lists and sections are handled as plain text whereas URLs in public notes are automatically recognized as links and behave as such.
We'd like to see this functionality for all text fields in the Leganto UI. URLs should always be clickable links.

  3. Allow website to be default CiteIt! material type rather than Other

When checking lists created by academics, when they use Citeit! and if the site is not recognised/supported, the default material type chosen by Citeit! is "Other", but other is not very helpful when almost all of the time the material type is effectively website at least by definition. It would be useful if it was possible to configure it to default non-recignised/supported websites to be added as Website citation material type (non repository citations added via CiteIt!) as it would save Library staff having to edit these for no real benefit, either in terms of metadata checks, or in terms…

  4. Multiple rollover

The rollover functionality is great and is used to reduce the workload for the staff.

We have encountered one issue. What we have seen is that the work on the establishing of the courses themselves in the course management system (external system) often takes a long time and there are changes throughout the year. That means that at the point where the library would like to perform the rollover there will only be a portion of the courses that are ready in the course system. This means that there are a need to perform a 2nd rollover at a later…

  5. Pulsating/blurring effect in search results is causing visual fatigue

One of our users says that the pulsating search results that cause the text to become blurry is giving them visual fatigue. See the attached video for an example of what I mean.

The pulsating and blurring is meant to draw attention to the component in response to the user hovering over the search result with their mouse. (Keyboard navigation doesn't seem to trigger this effect, as far I can tell.)

Since this visual effect is not essential to the functionality or the information being conveyed, we ask that you please remove this, or allow users to choose to disable…

  6. Configure general messages to be viewable to instructors only, students only or both

The general message feature in the December 2020 release is a useful way to display messages to all Leganto users (such as scheduled downtime or important library messages).

The functionality could be enhanced to allow general messages to be configured to only be viewed by instructors or students (or both if required). This would be useful in a number of scenarios and allow more targeted messages to be prominently displayed to relevant users at the point of need.

    For example:
    - reminders to academic staff to check their lists prior to rollover
    - reminder to academic staff to submit lists…

  7. Option to rename/customise the Rialto 'Add Items' search scope

We have recently turned on the option for instructors to 'add items' using Rialto but this terminology is confusing for them.

We would like the option to customise this heading e.g. 'Search our book supplier' or 'Rialto (Library book supplier)'
This should encourage use and facilitate training.

We would much prefer instructors use Rialto rather than Cite It to harvest from publisher websites. Cite It often misses key bib information and/or brings in erroneous e-links.

  8. Fix Cite It! login redirect

When a user hits the Cite It! bookmarklet, if they are already logged into SSO, it works perfectly. However, if they aren't logged in, then hitting the Cite It! button lets them log in and takes them to Leganto. What it should do is capture the URL where they were when they first hit the bookmarklet, then login, then redirect back to the original page and open up the form to save the citation to a list or to the collection. This would make the use of the Cite It! button completely seamless for users.

  9. Allow general messages to be scheduled

The ability to schedule general messages in Leganto would streamline the workflow for time-sensitive messages e.g. messages relating to scheduled downtime would automatically be taken down after the date the downtime occurs.

  11. Automatically create first section when creating a list

All lists have at least one section, meaning creating the first section is a mandatory step. This step could be automated, and the first section created instantly as the list is created.
The tooltip could be used to inform about how to edit the title (not strictly necessary), instead of how to create the section (mandatory).

An alternative would be to offer a template out of the box with one section, replacing the existing blank template.

  12. Improve usability of Get It in citation view (when primove_getit = true)

At present the size of the iframe for availability of physical resources is not customisable. It is of such a size that if the user wants to make use of request forms, or there are many holdings it entails scrolling.

It would be great if this area was responsive rather than fixed size, but even being able to customise the size might help in the interim.

    Illustration: https://www.screencast.com/t/2RR7s2OVm

With primove_getit = false a responsive experience exists, but it has it's own usability issues and we want a consistence experience between Primo VE and Leganto and do not want to manage…

  13. Citation Processing rules to use same Leganto real time availability merge rules for purchase requests

    Hi,
    Ideal Scenario:
We currently have a citation processing rule set to automatically trigger a purchase request, if a book has a particular tag, and there are no E versions of the P available in repository. If there is an E copy available then the purchase request should not be triggered. If no E version is available, but the citation meets all other parameters in that particular citation processing rule, then a purchase request should automatically be triggered

    Issue:
The problem at the moment is that, Leganto is not relating our E version to our P, and so is still…

  14. Allow reports on reading lists without citations in Leganto analytics

We often produce reading lists (RL) for courses that only have syllabus selected by the student. These lists don't include any citations, but often have information essential to the students. Our problem is that we can't find a way to retrieve these RLs in analytics, together with RLs that include citations.

Gal Darom said in May 2019 (in the ListServ...), when I asked for help to find all RLs associated to courses:
The relation (data schema) between Courses -> Lists is done through the citations measure, and looks like that “Course -> Citations ->Lists”
The outcome of this relation explain…

  15. Add year field to course bulk update job

The course bulk update job can be used to update most of the key fields for each course, eg terms, start dates - but not the year.

We don't want to have to update the year field manually for all of our courses, so can this option be added to the course bulk update job?

  16. Citation menu options should be available from citation view

It would be helpful if there was more access to the citation menu options when viewing the citation in Leganto. Users should be able to Copy to my collection, Send to Library, Mark as Read, get LTI Direct Access, get a permalink and Set Complete.

Where this is a real problem however is for instructors who are using the Unlink LTI option on a citation from the LMS. To unlink, they follow the link to the citation, then have to know to go to the section to find the citation and its menu.

Ideally both unlink and relink should be…

  17. Allow new (custom) type when creating a citation

I understand that this may be a complex undertaking since a new citation type will impact interoperability with Alma (and Primo). However, is there possibly a way to provide the function to create basic custom types that are mapped to a min. number of fields (title, author / creator, date source, file; or DC fields). For example, our staff wanted to create type 'tutorial' which does not exist (they are using the 'website' as a workaround).

  18. CiteIt - finish loading form after logging in

We're set up with SAML (Shibboleth) authentication, but lecturers aren't usually logged in with this already, so when they use the CiteIt button they'll be prompted to login.

Current behaviour is that they click the button, the SAML login screen opens in a new tab, and on successfully authenticating that tab takes them to the Leganto homepage. Lecturers have to switch back to the original tab and click the bookmarklet again.

It would be nice if, after the lecturer is logged in:
    a) ideally the tab would close again;

    b) more importantly the CiteIt form would now automatically pop up…

  19. Section IDs in Analytics

We currently have an issue where staff are wanting to add Section permalinks into a VLE called Insendi. It would be great if Section IDs added to Analytics or to the API. In order that we could create a report that creates section permalinks to be added to Insendi.

  20. Simplify copyright clearance request workflow

Currently instructors create an item, upload a file, and select the kind of copyright (eg self-declared, or no declaration, etc). At this point it looks to the instructor as if they've done everything they need to do. Nothing reminds them they need to also fill out a copyright clearance form, or where to find it (since this involves opening the item in a completely different way). As a result we expect most instructors will forget/skip this important step.

We'd like the instructors to be able to do everything on a single screen. Ie when they create the item, they should…
