How can we improve campusM?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. put a custom url launching scheme into the app

    We want to link right to the app from our website when a user is on mobile. I found a thread about this for iPhones at https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2095638/iphone-apps-can-i-open-an-app-from-a-link-in-a-website

  2. Facebook share link to be shown per user device

    It would be nice for Android users to be able to share on Facebook the Google Play link only, the iOS users - the Apple Store link only, and the desktop users - the desktop user link only.

    Another nice UX-improvement change would be if the links will show the app logo image and be able to modify the description.
    Please see attached how the link appears in Facebook now.

  3. [SSO Profiles] Disable or remove the Update link in Personal Details

    The user should not be able to hit the Update control since it does nothing.
    Please remove or disable the Update link (iOS and desktop) and Done link (Android).
    Valid for desktop and mobiles.

    1. Log into the secured profile. (You can use myUON Profile in UON Student App using the credentials: c2003545/Testing-1.)
    2. In main menu, select "Personal Details".
    <The input fields are in read-only mode - on mobiles; and are editable - on desktop.>
    3. Click/Tap the "Update" button/link.

  4. The logon box should have a hyperlink to password reset/recover function for the host institution.

    It is fairly typical to have a link to password reset functionality underneath login boxes, "Click here to reset/recover your password"

  5. Ability for Users to create their own tiles

    We would like to provide our users the ability to create their own tiles. We believe this would make this portal/app experience more powerful and sticky. This would also keep the administrators from having to create and maintain links for individual desires vs enterprise needs.

    "Include up/down or previous/next options when viewing notifications so as to improve ease of navigation, by preventing the user from having to open a notification then press their "back" button to return to the list of notifications in order to view the next one"

  7. Lecturer View of attendance history by student

    Currently Lecturer needs to go into each class to view a students history. It would be very useful to also provide a view by student, so they can see an individual students history in one view.

  8. The addition of search by name not by email when covering a lecture for colleague (alternative lecture functionality)

    If i am suddenly asked to cover a class at speed I may not want to admin check ins by cross searching for that lecturers email address. Can it be improved so that the alternative lecturer feature allows for either option in separate non compulsory fields.

  9. When I look at my timetable in week view and I scroll down to the Friday section (for instance), I can click on an event and I can see the r

    When I look at my timetable in week view and I scroll down to the Friday section (for instance), I can click on an event and I can see the relevant details, however when I go back to the week view, the list has scrolled to the top again.

    My suggestion is to have the list remember its position before an event is clicked, and then on returning to the list view from the clicked event, have the list remain in the position it was in before clicking the event, rather than returning to the top of the list again.

    Lecurers cannot search to see an individuals attendance unless we have the student email address to hand which. Can it move to recognise names too.

  11. Send OTC via email

    Send the OTC a day in advance to lecturers via email. Users express the need to be able to access the OTC outside the app (native app or online portal).

    It would be great if they could tick this option somewhere in the app i.e. "I want to receive the One Time Codes via email"

  13. Choose animation type for banner tile

    Currently, there is only one animation type for the banner tile: a slide animation with an elastic ease-in-out easing function. It would be nice to have multiple easing functions to choose from for the slide animation (https://easings.net/) as well as other options such as a crossfade or fade-in-out animation.

  14. Take photo of Student at time of check in

    As an admin, I want a setting that allows me to turn on ' take student photo' . This will then require the student to take a head shot when marking attendance

  15. Configure Attendance check-in end allow for x minutes after start

    Currently check-in end time is +/- minutes from end of class. Should also be able to configure it as + minutes from start of class.

    With current config limitation it is not possible to have classes of varying length but set a fixed check-in window.

  16. Add sitemap.xml file to root domain

    Have the ability to add an XML-formatted sitemap to the relevant site's root domain, e.g. institution-beta.ombiel.co.uk/sitemap.xml. This will allow the beta version (or which ever version of the app you add the sitemap to) of our app to be crawled and audited for accessibility adherence.

  18. Improve the grid layout scaling when switching from wider screen

    The forced margin causes some bad scaling for the grid layout switching from a wider screen to a narrower one.

    This will relate to using "standard" window size break points via media selectors in CSS. We observed that you are using Bootstrap (version 2.x no less).

    Without switching to an alternate means of layout (JS) or setting up media selectors at ridiculous levels (every 10px), would it be possible to rethink the margin settings around the 490px to ~900px range.

    Allow more customization within push notifications, for example only send to specific platforms or device. Same types of parameters available within Menu item (tile) overrides.
