  1. Add a Description column in the Received Items List page

Subject: Add a Description column in the Received Items List page

As a Receiving operator, I would like to be able to see the description of the item I am receiving in the Received Items List page, without needing to click on Edit Inventory Item to navigate to the physical item editor.

  2. Seperate the price and currency in Item's inventory price

The field Inventory price field in physical item contains price and currency while Alma copies price from POL to item. Please seperate the currency into anohter field and make sure the price field is numeric. In this way, the Inventory price field can be counted directly.

  3. An availability calendar for booking request showing the times when booking request can be made

When we request a booking, the availability calendar doesn’t show the hours when booking request can be made, it only indicates the hours when the booking is not available.

  6. Select All Representations in Digital Resource Editor

Add a master checkbox to select all representations for a title within the Digital Resources Editor. This would really help with deleting representations when they need to be replaced or purged entirely.

  7. Borrowing Renewal Workflow (non-ISO): Letter to patron in case of a not accepted Renewal Request

If a Renew Request was accepted, a letter (Ful Borrowing Info letter) is sent to the patron.
However, if a Renew Request was not accepted, no letter is sent to the patron.

That's what we found in the documentation:
    https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/030Fulfillment/050Resource_Sharing/Borrowing_Requests_(New_Layout)/Managing_Borrowing_Renewals_(New_Layout)
"5. If the request is renewed, a message is sent to the patron and a renewal fee may be charged. The letter is the Ful Borrowing Info letter. To configure the letter, see Configuring Alma Letters. A resource sharing renew fee is set as part of a fulfillment policy; see Adding Fulfillment Policies. If the request is rejected by the…

  8. Remove MARC Relator terms ($e) from Author and Author (Contributor) fields (1XX/7XX) in Analytics

The Author and Author (Contributor) fields in Bibliographic Details in Alma Analytics are mapped from several subfields in MARC fields 100/110/111 and 700/710/711, respectively, including subfield e. But subfield e should not be included in the Author and Author (Contributor) mapping because it is not part of the author name. It is instead a separate element that denotes the relationship between the named author/contributor and the work, the Relator. Thus the $e value may vary or be absent from records although the author/contributor is the same, making it impossible to search upon, identify, and unite author/contributor names in Analytics. Any…

  9. Authority data: first indicator in the bibliographic record

Now we have many mistakes in our bibliographic records in the settings of the first indicator by connecting with authority data (GND, IdRef, ..). It would be great to have an automatic process, which takes over the first indicator of the authority data to the bibliographic record when you select the authority heading.

What you have then is the following: First indicator, preferred term and authority identifier are taken over from the authority record to the bibliographic record by using “select” in the index view of the authority record.
It would be great, if this is implemented for 1XX/6XX/7XX in…

  10. EDI check in for print journals

Alma documentation states that Alma supports the following Edifact message types – INVOIC, ORDERS, OSTENQ, ORDRSP, ORDCHG. However our old LMS Aleph supported an additional Edifact message type called DESADV.

This allowed our serials agent, Ebsco, to check in our journals in on the LMS remotely via EDI once our monthly consolidated deliveries of print journals were despatched from the warehouse.

Provided our prediction patterns matched the PIA line this worked efficiently. An example of EDI text is as below:-

    LIN+1'
    PIA+5+0001-4788(2012)42?:1;1-9:SI::28'
    IMD+L+050+:::ACCOUNTING AND BUSINESS RESEARCH'
    QTY+12:1'
    RFF+SNL:52280023'
    RFF+SNA:52280023'

The above essentially means that for order no 52280023 (linking to…

  11. Add more options for ILL integration

Adding ILLiad integration to Alma was welcome but also brings more issues into the system. For example - patrons are shown in their account via Primo that ILL loaned items are not renewable. They are but not via Alma. A customizable message for the Resources sharing library that would display in "My Account" saying "Renewable via ILLiad" would be welcome. We have configured ILLiad to send courtesy notices. Now that we have integrated with Alma patrons get two courtesy and "due today" letters because Alma cannot turn off letters for specific locations. The ability to turn off those two letter…

  12. Add a checkout widget that can be accessed from the desktop

The most common thing we need to do in Alma is to check out books, but we need to train our students and Circ clerks to go to "Manage Patron Services." What about some kind of checkout widget or even an entry in the main Alma menu that actually says "Check out" or "Check in"?

  13. Display override message consistently

Based on Block preferences, override messages can be configured. But these messages are shown only once in a session (as confirmed by Ex Libris, ticket 380696). We need this message to be displayed consistently each time that an action requires an override.
We would like to be able to configure for each Block preference whether the override message is to be shown only once per session or at each action triggering an override.

  14. Field creation date by changes via API

While changing a specific field in a user records via API the "creation date" should be changed only in this field and not in any other fields – which happens now – in order to be able to recognize the newest changes in a user profile.

  15. Add active link function to all fields where a URI in subfield u is valid

Subfield u for uniform resource identifiers has been defined as a valid subfield in many bibliographic fields to provide automated access to electronic resources.
    As noted in the OCLC bibformats: "Subfield ǂu defined as the URI is valid in the following fields: 031, 370, 381, 505, 506, 510, 514, 520, 530, 538, 540, 542, 545, 552, 555, 561, 563, 852, 856, 880, 883, 884, and 956. Additionally, subfield ǂu can be used in fields 901-907 and 945-949, either in accord with its control subfield definition or as a locally-defined subfield" (http://www.oclc.org/bibformats/en/controlsubfields.html#subfieldu).
Currently, only URIs in 856 subfield u…

  16. Allow patron to choose whether to recall or just place a hold

It would be great to offer the patron the choice of whether they want to be "put on the list" for an item when they place a hold, or they want to recall that item because they need it quickly.

  17. Add Note Option for Fines/Fees

We have several short-loan items that our patrons check out, and these items often generate small fines that are difficult to track whether or not a fine is legitimate, or if there may have been operator error.

For example, we circulate study rooms where a student may check out the room key, and a box of white board markers or a television remote. If the student returns the room key and white board markers on time, but not the remote, it's difficult to tell if that's valid.

Solution: Rather than emailing all staff that may need to interact with that…

  18. Analytics - Ability take indicators and subfields into account when adding local (hol) parameters

At the moment it is not possible to take indicators and subfields into account when asking Ex Libris to add local (hol) parameters for Analytics.
That's very unfortunate as it can lead to an extremely cluttered output for the field that makes it impossible to use.

As "normal" bibliographic fields however are filtered by subfields we'd like ExL to make this possible for the local parameters, too.

  19. Use Pieces field from item record to trigger a confirmation pop-up at checkout or return

Use the Pieces field from item records to trigger a confirmation pop-up at item checkout or return when that item has two or more pieces. Taking measures for prompting staff to add notes manually item-by-item or creating sets and running jobs to populate fulfillment notes for items that have 2,3,...9,10,...39,40,... pieces are both impractical. Not having a pieces confirmation at checkout feature is a frequent complaint on the Alma Listserv.

  20. Set an "end of term" due date, by patron group, that would be prioritized over TOU due date

We would like the ability to set a set an end-of-term due date that would outweigh the due date calculated based by the TOU on a transactions.

And, we would like to be able to apply the due date to particular user groups.

The related functionality currently available includes using fixed due dates in the TOU, or relying on patron expiration dates.

    Our use case includes:

    1) requiring all materials be returned at the end of each quarter.

    2) student loan periods that are not fixed date due dates, but instead are short duration.

    3) expiration of student records in…
