Allow Personal Delivery to be fulfilled from any library circ desk
Scenario: When an item belonging to another library that has an active home delivery request is returned or scanned in at another library's circulation desk, the item is put in transit to the owning library for the request to be fulfilled. The home delivery request should be fulfilled from any loans desk regardless of which library the item belong to.
We are multi campus institution with libraries 100s of kms apart. We require the personal delivery requests to be fulfilled from any of our libraries, instead having to return the items to the owning library.
A Salesforce was raised (SF 00524282) and ExLibris Product manager accepted that it does not seem very intuitive but they said Alma was designed this way to allow personal delivery to be done only by the owning library. They suggested this to pursue via Ideas Exchange and NERS.
We would like this to be improved so that we can serve our users better by providing items quicker.
A new configuration on the library will allow other libraries to handle personal delivery for that library’s items. This will take into account the scan-in library’s ability to handle personal delivery (having a primary circulation desk that supports personal delivery).

I would also be interested in this which is similar just digization rather than home delivery https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/44952898-allow-other-libraries-to-handle-digitization
Would similarly benefit multi library/campus institutions

I've just implemented this in our sandbox it's working nicely but led me to think about what happens when there are blocks. I was going to submit an idea to have a message appear when there is a block on a home delivery but it already exists:
https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/35421799-provide-a-notice-warning-on-scan-in-when-a-home-de
They Currently just go straight to the hold shelf without any indication. This this would further improve the workflow for personal delivery.
Really glad this idea went ahead wasn't something I noticed since we don't have a lot of off campus students but was a nice simple improvement.
