Make 245 $p, $n, $s, $k, $f, $g part of "Title" resource description when viewing/editing holdings and item record details.
Currently when viewing a list of holdings or list of items (and editing them) for a resource/bib in Alma, the $p -- a part/section of a work is not displayed in the resource description for the title. All you see is the main title of the work (245 $a), not the sub-name designation of the part/section. You have no way of knowing which work you are viewing or editing, unless you know the call number specifically.
Example, I have 4 records that are all "The advertising red books" title, but each one is a different part/section of the work. If you are in a record (either viewing holdings/altering holdings, viewing items/altering items) you have no idea which part of work you are really in (or which record). When making printouts - you don't have that information included on the screen.
Would love to be able to see the extra title information when viewing these screens in Alma, and help make titles with many sections/parts much easier to keep track of while editing data.
The resource description in the headings information for the Record View, List of Items, List of Holdings, the Physical Item Editor, and single holdings was expanded. Also, the resource description was expanded in the MD Editor holdings record header. The resource description now includes the a, n, p, h, b, f, g, k, and s subfields of the MARC 21 / KORMARC 245 field and the a through i subfields of the UNIMARC 200 field.

245 subfields are also needed on CZ Updates Task Lists.

We are also thinking on enhance the search index to include additional subfields.
Currently - "a,b,k,n,p" --> we are consider to expand it to --> "a,n,p,h,b,f,g,k,s"What do you think about it?

WOO HOO!!!!
Thank you for this. I can not overstate how much more usable this will make both Alma and the reports I get via Analytics.

I am back commenting on this again and pleading for full indexing of all subfields of the 245. I just tried to find a known title of an archival collection. As is typical of archival collections, the information in 245$a is very generic -- "Papers". The information that distinguishes this set of papers from another is carried in the other, unindexed, subfields -- in this case $f -- 1960-1967. In order to get anything other than a null set returned, I have to search without the dates. An All Titles search for Title= "Papers" returns 8699 results. I was VERY fortunate that the title I was looking for was fairly early in the list, but if it had been 10 or 20 or 400 pages in, I would never have found it.
THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!

Agree with Betsy's comment (April 3, 2017). Its good to see some of these basic metadata issues finally being addressed

I'm glad to see one of these 245-related requests finally gaining traction. We need better pass through of all subfields to analytics, Primo, patron notices, fulfillment reports, repository search indexing, etc. This is a gaping hole in the title information.

Clearly, improved use of the information in ALL the 245 subfields is important to many of us. This is one of FOUR similar/related requests, with a total of 50 votes as of 8/16/2016:
• "The 245 field should display in repository search results, even if there is no 245$a" (10 votes)
• "Please make the MARC bib. 245 subfield p from the bibliographic record available" (2 votes)
• "Make 245 $p, $n, $s, $k, $f, $g part of "Title" resource description when viewing/editing holdings and item record details" (13 votes)
• "Make 245 $p, $n, $s, $k, $f, $g part of "Title" criteria in Analytics &/or make them available as separate criteria" (25 votes) -

Absolutely agree! 245 $p is also important for identifying journals, some of them publish editons of the main journal and these edition names are (often) registered as a section in $p.

Would love to see the extra title information too. at times it is very confusing to tell which title goes where.
