Pop up user notes
Currently, we only have block notes pop up when scanning patron ID in "manage patron services". It would be lovely if a specific user notes (which can be added manually by staff) like "circulation" notes can be popped up to warn the staff like the patrons' email address is incorrect or this is a distance student etc. Please feel free to ask more question re this idea
User notes can now be defined to appear as pop-up notes in Manage Patron Services so that the librarian can inform the patron of any important messages. When a user note is created, a new check-box is available, Pop up note. When selected, the note will display as a pop-up window when the operator enters Manage Patron Users. If a block message also exists for the user, both messages will display in the same pop-up window.

In acquisitions and tech services pop up notes are useful for requested titles, for withdrawals, and rush orders, this helps prioritize and expedite cataloging and processing titles as they are received.

We have been on Voyager and are moving to Alma. We use pop up notes for various tasks related to users. It would be very useful for us to continue to have that capability.

It would be more than lovely! Our staff would really like to have this, as we use pop-ups extensively.

The clarity of User notes and control of their display is very important to staff working with Alma. the UI behaviour of User Defined Blocks (and other policy blocks) which pop-up is highly desirable.
In our 2+ years experience with alma, this is one of the most frequently mentioned issues for frontline staff.
I suppose the issues may include whether they are a specifical type of 'fixed' message, or all free-text, whether all levels of circulation desk operator/role could remove them and whether they could have any other prioritisation/time-based focus?
