  1. Sorting electronic collections by "Public name (override)"

When searching for electronic collections, results lists can currently only be sorted by collection name or by rank. It would be very useful if the list could also be sorted by "Public name (override)".

Currently, for each entry in the result list, the name from the field "Public name (override)" is displayed first, followed by the collection name - which equals the public name - in parentheses. However, the alphabetical order is determined by the public name. This results in a collection list sorted by the names which are in second place and in parantheses. This is rather confusing and…

  2. Reduce the number of recurring order types.

The number of recurring order types is confusing and causes issues not only when ordering new serials but when processing them. Even Ex Libris staff often have trouble explaining the differences between standing order types and if we need to change an order type someone with the authorization has to run a job. The operational differences don't make sense. Reports can easily distinguish between different order types from the Material type and Reporting Codes fields.
This change would make recurring order management much simpler and more efficient.

  3. Make "Always show current location" the default

Please either make "Always show current location" checkbox ticked by default or allow a system configuration to toggle whether it is force displayed. It is always more useful to see the location than not.

  4. Ability to search for duplicate varying text in two different Marc subfields within the same MARC field

Using the Indication rule "recordHasDuplicateSubfields", it is possible to find duplicate subfields that have the same value within the same field, but it is not possible to find duplicate subfields if the subfield content is different.
For example, we can't find a 245 field that contains two different 245 b subfields.
Having this possibility would greatly help us to identify cataloguing errors.

  5. Authority Control Task List Ability to Sort by Bib Headings

Authority Control Task List Ability to Sort by Bib Headings
It would be helpful to be able to sort the authority control task list by Bib Headings, as often the same names appear multiple times. When these names have multiple names in the national authority file after pressing F3, it is necessary to view all the names to find the correct name to use. It is time consuming to have to go back to the same group of names over and over and over and over.
If I could sort the names in the task list, then when I find…

  7. Stop "User manager" role's ability to add and delete Alma administrator roles

Ideally, there shall be a separation of managing patron users and managing staff users. If that is not possible, please make it impossible for people with "user manager" role to add and delete administrator roles.

  8. Ability to report on inventory for citations

We would like to analyse print and electronic inventory for citations for a single or multiple reading lists. We're interested to look at reading lists with high or low print/electronic inventory so that we could engage with reading list owners e.g. for lists with high amounts of print we may want to look at the addition of e-book versions of the titles.
Currently it is not possible to report on print and electronic inventory for citations due to the fact that the 'locate' process links the citation to a particular bibliographic record and it's consequently not possible to connect from…

  9. Fulfillment: User receives an email when an item that has requests on it is issued to them and the loan period is shorter than normal

In our loan Terms of Use the Recall Period and Requested Item Due Date are set to 3 days. If a user requests an item, but then another request is placed on the item before they collect it from the library and it is issued to them, when the item is issued to them they are not informed that there is another request on the item so the loan period is only 3 days. The first the user knows about this is when they receive the overdue notice on the day after the item was due. Most of our libraries…

  10. Manage Item Returns: Send one Return Receipt Letter can be aggregated like the overdue notices.

There should be a standard configuration that would allow libraries to set it up and set a batch time so a returned receipt would reflect all of the items returned in one day for a given borrower on one "returned" receipt.

  11. Acquisitions API - Interested in user – add other identifiers in addition to Primary ID

Currently Alma allows multiple identifiers to identify ALMA Users, however the Acquisitions API (Interested In users) mapping only allows “primary_ID”.

We’d like any other identifiers used in Alma also be allowed in the mapping (e.g. Email Type). If this is added on the API parameter, staff can use the less sensitive info instead on vendor site.

Noting that adding other identifiers in the Interested_User api parameters - is only doing what EOD acquisition workflow/mapping can already do.

It is cumbersome for staff having need to search the requester’s primary id to be able to use this feature.

  12. Allow Alma users to choose the match routine when using the ‘Link to Community’ tool to link portfolios to a community zone collection.

The ‘Link to Community’ match routine for matching local portfolios to the CZ is too restrictive. We would like to be able to use our local bibliographic records and have them link to portfolios in the CZ, however, the match rate is dependent on what metadata is available in the CZ records, which are often brief and do not contain the ISSN/ISBN match point that Ex Libris has selected for that collection in the CZ.
Alma users should be able to choose the match routine when using the ‘Link to Community’ tool, similar to how we can choose the match…

  13. provide means to access our Alma and Primo data via our own analytics tools

we need to analyse and combine our data with data from other systems that are in use at the university. extracting data from Alma in a meaningful way is way too cumbersome to be useful. all methods that I am aware of are based on an Analytics report, and have restrictions on numbers of rows that can be exported at one time. E.g. we would need to compare data from our reading list system (which we can access using an ODBC connector despite the system being SaaS) with print and electronic holdings in Alma and their usage. I do not…

  14. Add vendor UTB to Upload Electronic Holdings workflow

The vendor UTB has already e-collections in CZ which have dozens of activations in the EMEA region. We've already contacted the vendor, and they would be willing to implement the Upload Electronic Holdings workflow.

    Vendor name: UTB
    Website: https://www.utb.de
    Contact: Tanja Klapputh, klapputh@utb.de
    Alma Interface name: UTB GmbH

  15. API call to download digital files to run corpus analysis or crawl

API call to download digital files to run corpus analysis or crawl

We would like to download the Alma digital files using an API to conduct corpus analysis of our content. At present the available URLs pointing to the PDFs are pointing to the landing pages of the PDFs. It is not possible to extract the PDF from these pages as they load everything with Javascript in a browser.

Furthermore, it is not possible to automate the use of the job available to download digital files to meet our requirements.

There is no API available to construct URLs to get…

  16. Allow institutions to configure their own Packaged PO approval rules

Could we please be provided with an option to disable or configure the auto approval rules of POs containing non 'Purchase/Purchase no Letter' POLs.

Institutions currently only have control over PO Line level approval rules in Alma and PO rules are limited as per the documentation - https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/020Acquisitions/020Purchasing/060Approving_and_Sending_POs

"A PO with PO Lines that are not one of the following Acquisition methods will not go to Waiting for Approval:
    • Purchase
    • Purchase No letter"

Providing us with the option to configure these options ourselves or via support requests to include/exclude specific acquisition methods will give us more flexibility to…

  17. Add Reporting Codes and Dates to Items screen

Reporting Codes can be applied to POLs only.
Reporting codes and dates allow libraries the freedom to set codes and manage items.
For example, items can set Funds when it is no longer linked to a POLs with Change holding.
Also, missing book codes and date can be entered in case of a missing book.
Allowing Reporting codes, or some similar code, to be applied to Items would add a great deal of flexibility and utility to an already good idea.

  18. Allow edits to POL Bib Descriptions on Cancelled POLs

We want to be able to edit the POL Bib Description fields on cancelled POLs without having to reopen the POL. Reopening a cancelled order on a closed ledger causes complications, especially if the fund doesn't exist in the current ledger. It would be better for your users if we could just edit this tab without impacting the POL status. Thank you!

  19. API allow quantity for pricing in POL creation

We use the adquisitions API to duplicate POLs. When we are creating a new POLs based on a existing ones.

We get the original POLs json and we make some changes on it to send it again in order to create a new one.
If the POL has more than one items to be ordered (quanity for pricing field), the api ignore it and put always a 1.
The problem is that the Alma make some calculations with the amount field and the fun percentage changes, so the POL amount increases and is not the correct amount.

    In order to…

  20. Adding newly registered patrons to the 'Recent patrons'-list

Being able to see patrons entered in a session is very useful, but it would be great if the recent list also included new patrons registered during the session.

Often times, patrons for instance request registration before they find the books they want to borrow. If we could easily access their patron services page when they return with them, it would streamline the process.
