    Hi,

The fulfillment network allows exactly this type of functionality. A user can walk into any library in the network and check out an item using her home library's patron ID. The process works by the system automatically creating a patron account at the lending library. The patron account is linked to to the patron account of the home library, so that updated to the patron account at the home library automatically happen also at the host library.

This process gives the lending library control over the lent items. The loan is registered at the owning library, which can control its terms of use, track the loan status, manage the courtesy and overdue notices etc.

    Hi,

Searching completed requests by external ID is possible, see https://www.screencast.com/t/FrIbO9m1H6G. Also, once a search has been done, the facets show up, allowing to facet by partner.

    Hi,

Please do note that you can create Alma internal user accounts with their passwords managed in Alma. Creating a limited number of these accounts will enable you to activate them when there is an outage of the IdP service, allowing library work to continue using these accounts.

Note that the users selection (for example for Name search) remains sticky throughout the session.

    Hi,

Are you familiar with the Fulfillment Configuration 'Block Preferences' option ? This allows to configure system behavior in various situations. One of them is 'Item is currently on loan by another patron'. The 'Handle Automatically' option is intended to support the workflow you seem to be describing. See https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/Alma_Online_Help_(English)/Fulfillment/080Configuring_Fulfillment/050Physical_Fulfillment#Configuring_Block_Preferences

    Hi,

The order of the services is designed to highlight a 'preferred' service on the right, with a 'Cancel' action next to it, and then less preferred actions further to the left. This is a general new UI design. With this in mind, the digital services have been considered the preferred services.

That said, the list of services that shows up should include only services that are available for this user for this record. Thus, if digitization is not a valid service, it is not expected to be found on the list. If this is not your experience, there may be some defect that needs to be fixed.

    Thanks,

Are you familiar with the "How to prevent printing specific slips and notifications at specific locations" article ?
It is at https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Knowledge_Articles/How_to_prevent_printing_specific_slips_and_notifications_at_specific_locations and may be of some help.

    Hi,

Are you familiar with configuring the 'Not Renewable – Item has Request(s)' option in the Block Preferences configuration ? Please see - 'https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/Alma_Online_Help_(English)/Fulfillment/080Configuring_Fulfillment/050Physical_Fulfillment#Configuring_Block_Preferences.

Does that match your requirement ?

The Override On Shelf Request Policy button in the Alma request form should enable you to request an available item that should otherwise not be requestable becasue it is on shelf. See https://www.screencast.com/t/dAQg6Gy7cG

    Hi,

Would using the option to assign multiple searchable IDs (codes) to the same course help ?

    Hi,

Do note that leaving the drop down value empty is not equivalent to filling it in with the only existing value. For example, if there is only one Terms of Use option, leaving the drop down empty would mean that if more copies are at any time added to the title with different terms of use, they will also be considered requested. If the only terms of use option is selected, the new copies (with the different terms of use) will not be considered requested.

    Thanks,
    Moshe

    Hi,

The expected behavior is that the :Cannot be renewed, maximum renew date DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS was exceeded" message will be triggered only if the maximum renew date is the reason for the renew request rejection, and that the message indicates the correct maximum date as per the policy used in your lending request TOU.

Please report a Sales Force case if that is not what you experience.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Are you familiar with the option to temporarily move an item to a distinct location for the duration of the reading room loan ? This is the 'Location to move items to' parameter described in https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/Alma_Online_Help_(English)/Fulfillment/080Configuring_Fulfillment/020Library#Configuring_Circulation_Desks.

With this, you can move the item to a location that will show in the Primo loans list.

    Hi,

I can suggest suppressing the cancellation letter based on the owner of the request (the resource sharing library) or some other attribute in the letter XML.

Please refer to the below article for information on how to suppress letters based on specific information in the letter XML.

    Hi,

Are you using the 'Renew' option in the borrowing request task list ? That should automatically update also the loan's due date, without requiring a manual change.
