An error occurred while saving the comment Diana Brooking commentedWe have already had numerous incidents of staff editing templates by accident. Email reminders of the process as it works in new MDE have not helped. This is clearly a flaw in the new MDE user interface. We have no way in Alma to recover the templates.

Dear community,
Thank you for raising this idea.
I would like to better understand the use case here:
1 How often such check is done? if this is a "cleanup" that is done once in a few month, for example, perhaps an analytics report would be sufficient?
2 In the description you wrote about the "has inventory" index. Can you give more details, why it is not useful for the described use case?
Thanks,
Tamar Fuches

Clarification was provided regarding the functionality requested – which is not to delete portfolios but rather detaching portfolios from the collection and setting them as standalone portfolios.
Re-opening the idea.Diana Brooking supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Diana Brooking commentedThe label "Already Supported" is false and needs to be removed please.
The Service editor needs the options to "Remove Selected" and to "Remove a Set" for portfolios, in order to make them standalone. There is already a function to "Move Set of Portfolios" if they are moving from one collection to another.
It seems to me that as elsewhere in Alma, there is too much dependence on specific use cases rather than making functionality consistent. This makes for a confusing user interface and a need for continual enhancement requests. Any function for adding, removing, or moving portfolios to and from collections should offer: 1) doing it manually one by one; 2) doing it for a selected group; and 3) doing it by using an Alma set. As well as the spreadsheet functions offered through the Portfolio loader.

An error occurred while saving the comment Diana Brooking commentedThe NZ icon is now very low key and hard to notice. I would like to see the icon made more noticeable somehow. A different color would be helpful, but some people are color blind. Explore options based on usability testing (or the literature on user friendly icons, there is a lot out there).

An error occurred while saving the comment Diana Brooking commentedYou can add a local portfolio through the Metadata Editor, very similar to how an item record is added. Edit bib, Tools, MARC bibliographic, Add a local portfolio
Other example: Scan in Items, Set status
Many pull-down menus present options in alphabetic order. Even some menus that remember recent choices may present those, but the default is often the first option in the alphabetic list, regardless.
